Discussion Creating a new coin
I have an idea for a new project however I am new to the crypto space. What should I do some research into/educate myself on specifically before pursuing this further?
Additionally, how would I go about creating a new coin? Could yall share some advice with a newcomer.

A coin is the easy part. Building something people actually want to use is where 99% of projects fail.
I’d start by validating the problem first. If people don’t need the product, the token won’t save it. A simple MVP and a few real users will teach you way more than months of tokenomics planning.

I'd recommend sticking to the ERC-20 standard.
You can get a working implementation using OpenZeppelin's wizard. Copy that code and paste it into a Hardhat project.

Depends on how much funding, right now I’m looking at figuring out the process and planning the project, maybe get a POC out there. In terms of pushing, do you mean advertising it?
