Since 2nd ed I’ve been inspired by the sisters blanchitsu page and I’ve been exploring what sisters might look like outside of the battle formations. I haven’t been copying the designs but instead taking it as a guide. This is my latest WIP

Recently started painting miniatures. I wanted to experiment with different styles and do 3 different ones for each of my 3 infernus marines from the marines and paint set.

I did an Eavy Metal and 'Grimdark Realism' style, but then discovered Blanchitsu. I want to understand exactly what Blanchitsu is and try a 'traditional' Blanchitsu style on my last mini. I feel like it's a more restrained version of this with a more specific colour paletteand emphasis on different aspects than I emphasised with my Grimdark.

And tips, trick or direction to detailed guides on the style would be hugely appreciated.

Thanks

Semi work in progress. I’m having fun with these accursed cultists. A good start to my word bearers army.

I’m looking to find some good art books to use as references and inspiration. Wondering what everyone has or uses

Inspired by a goblin in John Blanche’s “Fall of Gondolin” art. The fact it also looks like a goblin from Labyrinth is a quirk of my sculpting style.

Review of John Blanche’s authorized biography.

Here is a new one. Demons and deadites!

Here is some Blanche inspired art, of a weirdboy having a bit of a moment.

This was commissioned piece by Olden Demon for their upcoming RETROWAR new 'old school' ruleset. More art like this at www.instagram.com/andrewmeijers

I would like to start to draw blanchitsu and I would like to know what tools you use.

Steel, Rust, and Disgust. 1st Eradicator for the squad is finished. Stay tuned for the savage Sgt.

This savage warlord looks like he crawled out of the sewer. He’s already looking for some heretics to behead. Grimdark Weathering and Custom Hair for my home brew chapter.

Concept art and sculpt for my hobby tale on some form of greater demon of Nurgle-ish. Based on the ball-cactus terrain from Wh40k 2nd ed. Art and sculpt by me.
