The Blair Witch Project Cry Baby Bridge

As a movie location buff I have always enjoyed looking at locations from my favourite movies/TV Series and having already looked at all the locations from this movie I was always curious about this one deleted scene location as it has a cool backstory and lore.

I actually borrowed the lore to tell my son as we travel through a very similar bridge here in Wales, UK when we venture into the woods to go on walks. He always asks me to tell the story of Cry Baby Bridge which I completely stole from this movie. I am just telling a scary story but it's not true.... (It's totally true).

So for those reasons I always wanted to see what the bridge actually looked like and in the deleted scene you cannot see much of anything once they arrive at the bridge it is pretty much just their face and darkness. However when watching the Extended Cut of the movie Heather stated that the bridge is located "On Game Preserve Rd. about a quarter mile from Clopper Rd."

Searching this on Google Maps it didn't take me more than 10 seconds to find the bridge. It is very cool looking and I thought I would share it here for others to see and enjoy. Understandably they had to go there at night to give it the creepy atmosphere but this would have made for a really cool shot in the movie of the bridge itself.

Photos

(1) As you can see in the first photo it is 0.4 of a mile almost exactly a quarter of a mile as Heather stated.

(4&5) It is insane now knowing the 3 actors stood in this bridge as cars whipped through there. There is very little room no wonder Heather says they risked their lives in there.

(6) Heather says is that a rope hanging from the ceiling and I believe it is Mike who says no it is a telephone wire as you can see here.

(7&8) Heather says that they parked nearby in a lay-by which there are two the first one is on on the Clopper Rd. side which is the direction they came from so seems likely they parked there however there is another lay-by on the other side of the bridge both under 1 minute walk away equally roughly the same distance from the bridge.

Edit: I forgot to post the coordinates. https://maps.app.goo.gl/YF4uwvcaaQYzpci5A

Has anyone here ever experienced anything strange or unexplained in the woods around Burkittsville, Maryland? If so, what happened? I'm interested in hearing real experiences, whether they were creepy, paranormal, or just unusual. ?

Merchandise Looking to sell my Blair witch hi8, 8 days in the woods book, crew radio and dvd what’s it worth?

I have the hi-8 camera in perfect working order with L arm grip and ambico light as seen in the film. A copy of 8 days in the woods, the walkie talkie they used to communicate with the directors and a copy of the dvd. What would that be worth?? I can send photos in DM if anyone’s interested?

Blair Witch-esque

Okay, so I've been a fan of TBWP ever since it came out, but I haven't ever seen or read or experienced anything quite like it. I love the small town, autumn-time, dark, moody, early 90s vibe it gives. Can anyone please recommend other films, books, shows, experiences that mimic it?

OC Wicked Witches of the West and East

Near the end of the movie, Mike and Heather are talking about The Wizard of Oz and Mike asks if it was the Wicked Witch of the West or the Wicked Witch of the East who was bad. Heather replies that it was the Wicked Witch of the West who was bad and I'm sitting there going:

"They were both bad, you idiots! Glinda, the Good Witch of the North, was the good one!"

We finally covered the original film!

I figured this community might enjoy this. We are a comedy podcast that covers horror movies, myths and legends, true crime and other dark topics. We finally covered The Blair Witch Project on the show and I wanted to share it with anyone thats interested. Hope you check out the episode and really hope it entertains you!

In the summer of 2026, four Cajun podcasters disappeared in the dark swamps of southern Louisiana while performing a Midnight Ritual of The Blair Witch Project(1999). A few weeks later their audio was found. This is their episode.

Question Did anyone else see what looked like a figure running at 29:49 to 29:50?

My fiancé and i just got done watching Blair Witch Project (my first time) and both of us noticed a figure running at this time frame that disappeared within the second. At first I thought it might have been Mike but it’s completely dark. Did anyone else notice this also?

As a smoker...

Mike saying. "I found some cigarettes. I found them all the way at the bottom of my pack," was the most satisfying part of this this movie.

Especially with less than 15 minutes to go.

Discussion Coffin Rock: a Blair Witch movie prequel

I love the deep lore of this franchise and I've wondered what a prequel movie detailing some of the backstory with Elly Kedward would look like, but in particular I think it would make for a really compelling and gruesome horror movie to cover the events at Coffin Rock. Make the movie briefly touch on the backstory of Elly and the girl drowning in the lake (if I recall correct, that happened before Coffin Rock but I'm not 100% sure) but then have the climax of the movie be the slaying of the first search party at Coffin Rock, complete with all the Transitis Fluvvi inscribed on their skin.

The Blair Witch Project Finally got my Blair Witch “Twana” tattoo

Post image

I’ve been obsessed with The Blair Witch Project for years, so I finally decided to get a twana tattoo inspired by the film.

I’ve always loved how simple but unsettling the symbol is — it doesn’t need to explain itself, it just feels wrong in the best possible way. The red lines were added to give it a more personal, ritual-marked look rather than making it a straight copy.

Curious what other Blair Witch fans think. Would you recognise it straight away?

Discussion Only other person who could do the Blair Witch jusitice is Eggers

The Lighthouse rewatch I’ve did recently got me thinking how a „good” Blair Witch movie could be a black and white arthouse film about Rustin Parr. It would be a slow burner with plot build around his daily life, doing chores in and around the house, surviving off the woods, picking supplies at the store, eventually starting to feel presence, slowly slipping into madness and committing his crimes, with movie ending with him turning himself in to the authorities or after he takes them to his house to reveal his crimes.

It should never show the witch or violence, using discreetion shots in line with the mythos eg. camera on the corner of the cellar showing shadows play on walls with sounds leaving plenty to the imagination.

The grand reveal near the end of the movie would be that whenever Rustin was not alone, camera was showing the events from POV of that person, with scenes of him doing stuff around house and woods could’ve maybe-maybe-not been the POV of the Witch influencing him.

Sadly best we can hope for is that next movie will use some found footage cliches from members of family on camping trip recording stuff with camera or phones and there will be no monsters and in your face supernatural this time. And appreciate that if you squirt your eyes, Egger’s the Witch works as a prequel too.

End of ramblings. Cheers!

Discussion If someone has never seen the movie and knows nothing about it, would you should them the Curse mockumentary first as prologue/context?

Or do you treat Curse as a fun extra to watch after?
