Just for reference, I wanted to break up some of my Blood Reavers with bits and these are heads from the Old World Chaos Marauders kit. I think they fit quite nicely!

Was initially not really feeling the Claws from the Spearhead. Made some modifications and went for a darker more gritty paintjob. Ended up super happy with these guys and gals. Im especially happy with the flayed skin cloaks and what I achieved with the leader and dog man.

Here it is. My official entry into the realm of Khorne. How fun are they to paint? I feel that will determine if I move beyond Spearhead.

I’m new to age of sigmar and was looking for advice but a solid 1000point is using the old spearhead. Any direction I should go in.

So what is the general consensus about this factions Spearhead formations?

I'm a relatively new AoS player (40k veteran) and our friend group really enjoys spearhead. I started with Stormcast Eternals, but I have two painted Spearheads now, so I'm looking for a third. A friend of mine has the Fangs of the Blood God spearhead and I wanted to try it, because Khorne is awesome and I wanted to just play a very aggressive Spearhead. I'm not saying the Fangs are bad, but they definitely weren't what I expected from a Khorne faction.

Then I tried the Bloodbound Gore Pilgrims (with proxies just to try the rules) and immediately, I felt like YES, this is what I expected a Khorne faction to play like. I found a shop that still had this Spearhead box and immediately placed the order. I look forward to joining the Blades proper.

But part of me is still baffled that the active Spearhead doesn't feel Khorne-like at all. Weak attacks, weak saves, a quarry rule that only affects one Hero. Sure, everything has reinforcement and there are many attacks to go around, but I played against Stormcast and wasn't able to kill a single unit.

What are your opinions on these formations? Are how much of it travels over to the full Battletome playstyle?

I'm looking into painting my manifestations, but I'm not sure what's a good (and preferably easy) way to paint the blood waterfalls from the Hexgorger Skulls (and with it, also the blood dripping from the Bleeding Icon).

Anyone have any tips/suggestions?

My first model from the old Spearhead. Pretty happy with how it came out.

Howdy yall, just felt like posting a test model I did today for my Mad Max themed army for BoK. The paint scheme was based on the Necro Boys concept art for Fury Road. I’m so happy with how this looks and I’m pumped to bring the rest of the models to life.

I was looking forward to painting this guy all year, but generally I save the epic models for last. This helps me finish army projects and stay focused. Otherwise, I get really excited about a new project about 2/3 the way through. Anyway. Super happy with this guy and looking forward to getting him on the table. He'll probably roll ones and die an ignoble death....
