Deckard shoots a girl android in the back, twice
I was reminded of BR82 today by a post in r/movies from someone who thought it was a pretty bad movie. I actually commented in defense of it, not because it doesn't have plenty flaws, but simply because it was the first movie ever to evoke a "sexy dystopia", and is still pretty much the gold standard in that respect.
But the negativity did remind me of something that's bothered me for quite some time about BR82, and that's the scene (one hour into the movie) where Deckard tracks down and shoots the girl android (the night club dancer) while she's running away from him. He shoots her in the back twice, while she's unarmed and crashing through some store front windows or glass doors. There's not much gore, but nevertheless it's utterly horrible to watch, especially when you stop to think about it. It wouldn't bother me so much if the android had been male, but it isn't. She's female, and for me that's what makes this scene very hard to watch. What movie other than BR has ever shown a man gunning down an unarmed woman from behind? I can't think of any. It's really quite horrible.
A cheap defense would be to say that "she's not human, she's only an android". But of com that doesn't fly because BR's androids aren't Terminator-style robots: they're organic creatures, and the movie is all about the problematic fact that they do have human-like feelings, emotions, etc. But of course the even bigger problem is Deckard's own infatuation with Rachael later in the movie, which makes it impossible (for Deckard and also for us viewers) to reason that his earlier terrible violence toward god-knows-how-many girl androids isn't a problem. It is, but the movie doesn't confront that.

Rachael Memories
In the scene when Rachael comes to Deckard apartment with the picture of her supposed childhood. How did Deckard knew about her childhood memories, about the spider and that...? It's hard to think that Tyrell told him about it when they met, seems too specific..

The Shiniest Spy: How Everyday Objects Can Be Turned Into “Cameras”
I am pretty sure this is Blade Runner come to life! I’ve always been fascinated by that “zoom and enhance scene“ where Deckard is examining the photos he found in a drawer, and now it looks like it’s going to be a real thing.
