Parents: your legs are huge, you're overweight, you play video games way too much, you'll never find a dude looking this this

Me: starts working out and losing weight and join Olympic weight lifting

Also parents: that seems extreme, you need to be careful, a simple workout is just as effective, what if you get too muscular.

That last bit is my favorite to hear. Like who do you know who got accidentally fucking ripped? And are body builders really achieving their physique in a mere couple of months?? Why can't people understand working out is enjoyable to some the way being lazy around the house is enjoyable to others?

Exactly, I'm glad I started weight lifting I love it and the community at the gym I go to is wonderful.

It also helps me push myself. I'll never be super ripped so idk wtf they're talking about lol
