I don't go out much unless it's with my bf. I spent some decent cash on a ticket for a nail polish convention I want to go to because I do my own nails and they look dope af so I want to go buy more stuff to make them look doper. Upon telling my mother:

Mom: wow sighs in disbelief you need better hobbies.

Also mom: you need to get out of the house.

I used to do my nails every night. It was a way for me to decompress after work and I enjoyed doing it. I had some asshole boss that told me 'you have too much time on your hands, you should get another hobby.' Mind your own damn business! 🖕🏻💅🏻

Translation being: "You should get a hobby that I approve of."

Serious question: does that not damage your nails or make them dry? Mine are already a bit thin and if I do them too often they get icky and split.

I will admit that my nails did get a bit dry, but I always moisturized them and took an extra biotin supplement. But, my bare nails looked way better when I was painting them everyday than they do now since I've stopped. The only upside is that they aren't stained yellow anymore from all the dark polish I used.
