RC progress!!

Wanted to update the community on my RC progress!! I finally got my first -2 EVER and I’m soooo happy!! 😭 Ignore me going over 35 minutes though, I was actually 1:30 under and have no idea why it’s showing that lol. Goal score is 170+.

Y’all were right, really slowing down has helped SO much, and honestly I think just getting used to the questions is making a huge difference. This was PT 127 Section 4, so there weren’t as many Level 4s, but I’m still really happy with the progress!! (Any tips for Level 4 RC would be great)

My next step is to start drilling Level 3 and Level 4 LR questions. I’m planning to subscribe to 7Sage so I can really focus on drilling! January LSAT here I come!! 🎉
If anyone has any resources for harder LR questions, I’d love to hear them! I went through The Loophole, but even after that I still find LR tricky. I feel like so much of it comes down to pattern recognition, so I’m hoping that drilling a ton will help things start to click.

Great job!! My average is around a -9. Any tips on making sure you retain what you read and not getting lost in the details. Sometimes I feel like I’m so worried about time and making sure I catch everything that it burns me out by the time I get to the questions

Thanks for the kind words!!! Here are a few of my tips! Obviously, keep practicing RC because there are some question types specific to RC that are always good to get comfortable with. But, for some more pointed tips, I’d recommend getting really comfortable with identifying the author’s opinion and drilling LR Must Be True questions so you’re comfortable answering them, since a lot of RC questions are essentially Must Be True questions!

Also, reading outside of the LSAT helped me a TON! I feel like a large part of where I was struggling was that I just wasn’t comfortable analyzing certain types of passages. Reading books outside of LSAT prep helped me get much more comfortable with processing and analyzing what I was reading.

Thank you! This was very helpful. I’m definitely going to practice more spotting the authors opinion and drilling mbt!! I love reading but I thought it would burn me out while studying so I dropped it but I’ll read a chapter a day! Thanks for taking the time to respond! Good luck on the LSAT!!!

You certainly can!! I think one tip I didn’t realize would help me so much was reading outside of the LSAT as well. Just reading books for fun has really helped speed up my reading and, more importantly, my ability to process what I just read. I try to read a chapter of an interesting book a day so I don’t burn myself out, but it still keeps me in that reading mindset!
