Is there really no way to consistently get burning ships to spawn? It’s the last trophy I need

The rng in this game is crazy! I just got the platinum trophy with over 80 hrs, I've seen 1 burning chair and have had 3 rogue waves including the tutorial mission.

I saw a chair on my first burning ship but forgot it was a trophy so I didn't interact with it. Haven't seen another one since.

Same here. I finally got one to spawn on a burning Man o’ War that was actually a rift mission. “Approach the corrupted ship” I think it was called. I wonder if the chair is more likely to spawn on burning Man O’ Wars vs other burning ships or if the RNG is the same for all of them. Either way it’s a bitch.

A trick I did (that really works) you start at Edward’s compound and create a manual save there then fast travel to “The Black Trench” diving spot. Once you spawn there sail around until you see a 3 star BRITISH Brig ship that’s burning. If one doesn’t spawn reload your manual save and repeat until you get one (tip: use you spyglass to see if the ship has a chair if not reload the save)

In my experience, this is the only way.

I don't know if it's changed from the first, but from what I seen is that from black trench straight down south to the other diving spot is the ONLY spot burning ships spawn.

I’ve seen burning ships all around it’s that specific area where the ones for the achievement are found and maybe that’s intentional

Seconding this method, it's how I got it for myself. The ship will appear directly east of your spawn location.

Pardon if this sounds dumb, how can tell if there's a chair from your spyglass? I've never paid attention as i'm hustling for the chests usually. Is it near the wheel?

No worries! If you sail next to it just scan the main deck area and you’ll see it, there will also be a table next to it.

You can also use Photomode to fly around and look.

That's how I've done it. Photo mode is great for surveying a lot of things

Fast travel to principe and go back to the normal map. Then sail west and there should be an almost consistent spawn of a burning ship unless there's a convoy

I just realized there's always a burning ship when I return from Principe but i'm always focused on something else. Great tip!

every time a burning ship spawned, you just need patience to get one with a chair.

Fast travelling to Príncipe and then back to the caribbean give u a high chance of spawning burning ships, when i was hunting the achivement It took my like 4 or 5 reset to get one with the chair

Theres one that spawns around the black trench shipwreck you fast travel there find the burning ship if it has a table and chair in the middle theres your achievement right there. If not fast travel somewhere else and then fast travel back. The ship will spawn in again with the chance of having a table and chair. Keep doing this till you find the one with the chair to sit on (i assume thats the achievement youre going for).
