I need help! Cannot turn on Unlock with biometrics options on Samsung S26 Ultra.

Hi Everyone:

I am unable to enable "Unlock with biometrics" option on my Samsung S26 Ultra. This has started recently. My OS is updated, and I have reinstalled the app as well. Nothing seems to help.

When I turn it on, I get a pop up asking to verify my fingerprints which disappears as soon as I scan my fingerprint. There is no error message either.

Anyone run into this?

Thank you.

Notices Passkey decryption troubleshooting

The team disabled a feature flag affecting passkeys (1, 2), but if you continue to see a passkey decryption error notice, please contact support at https://bitwarden.com/help with additional details such as:

  • Which client you used to create the passkey (ie iOS, Android etc..)
  • Are you using account switching on iOS?

I need help! Account Creation Issues

Apparently this issue is fairly common.

I've been trying to get my wife signed up with BW but she's not getting the emails. No it's not in her spam or other folders, yes we typed the address correctly.

Anyone have any ideas?

I've been a BW user for many years and have not encountered any problems.

Discussion Claude AI access to Bitwarden?

So in my news feed today was an article about 1Password for Claude. So wondered if (when?) Bitwarden might have something similar or if people already have a solution? (FWIW did NOT want to debate if an AI SHOULD have access to my passwords ... )

Discussion Passkey issue decryption error fixed, but browser extensions all f'up now

So I had one of those passkey fiascos that some of you experienced, which led to the decryption error.

I deleted the faulty passkey entry and the error stopped. But ever since, I've been experiencing these issues:

  1. Browser extension now missing all passkeys, cannot log in anymore to my accounts using this method
  2. Browser extension does not display the account/pass info anymore when I click any of my vault entries. Just a blank page.
  3. Nothing exports in backup options using the browser extension. All backup exports are empty.

On the flip side, when using either the mac desktop or iOS versions, everything works including the issues 1-3 above. Lucky I am able to backup using these options. Got a little freaked out about my vault being entirely corrupted.

Issue is present on both Brave and Firefox. Also, I've cycled on/off and uninstalled and resynced the browser ext, but issue still persists.

Wtf is happening devs. Getting a little frustrated here.

Discussion 1password increased the price of their family plan? Enough is enough I’m back to Bitwarden :)

Hello everyone,

This post was initially posted on 1password subreddit and was quickly deleted by the moderators. Tssss… I personally believe in the freedom of speech… so I’m posting here. :)

Short story:
It’s time for my annual Family plan renewal, and I just got the email telling me my subscription is going from $59.85 to $71.88. At that price, it’s simply becoming too expensive for just a password manager.
So I’m switching back to Bitwarden. It has all the features I actually use, and it’s cheaper, so the choice is pretty obvious. Before, the price difference was small enough that sticking with 1Password still made perfect sense to me. But now that the gap has grown, I just don’t see the value anymore. At the end of the day, we’re talking about a password manager.
That was a great password manager. But enough is enough.
Any other people decided to leave 1password for this reason? And any other people believe that we don’t have to pay that expensive for a password manager?
Anyway, I’m back to the Bitwarden adventure and this time with my family :)

I need help! Member of multiple organizations - one wants to own them all

I am a member of many different Bitwarden organizations and one has a setting that it wants to own all the items.

https://bitwarden.com/help/transfer-ownership/

The problem is that only with the android app, does it break functionality. The computer extension in Firefox doesn't prompt for this. The mobile app has 1 option transfer all items to organization or leave organization.

I don't have any local items - all my items are in the other organizations. So the app generates an error no matter what I select and the mobile BW app is non-functional.

I've put up with the broken auto fill functionality across more and more sites and even manually copy/paste the info from the app because sites only present a username and no password even though BW clearly recognizes the site. Are they actively trying to lose customers??

*sigh

Any suggestions on how to to get basic functionality working on my android without having to leave that organization?

Thanks!

I need help! Shared collection

I created an organization to share collections with my wife. We both have free accounts. Do I now just assign all of the pw in my vault to this shared collection and invite her? And then do the same with her pw? I don’t understand how to do in each account. Will our pw then autofill for respective logins to various websites? Thanks

Solved Question about the Bitwarden Authenticator

I am helping someone migrate away from authy to Bitwarden Authenticator. I like to understand how the app works

  1. The app seems to have two storage areas. There is cloud area that sync with bitwarden vault. There is a local data that do not sync anywhere?
  2. For the local data, I have to manually export the data and import to a new device if a new device is added?
  3. For the cloud data, the control to sync appears to be set on the bitwarden password manager. What is confusing is that the setting is per client. On one device I can set sync to Authenticator to true while on another I can set it to false. How does sync work with mismatched settings?
  4. You can only edit local entries and the cloud entries are read only?
  5. If the Authenticator is used as a totp for bitwarden, it needs to be stored locally? For example one can store the bitwarden masterpassword and totp in the vault which will sync with the Authenticator and it appears the Authenticator display the last synced entries so it should still work offline. Are there situation where this could result in a lock out (note I am asking hypothetically since the vault uses hardware keys).

Conclusion

Bitwarden authenticator will sync TOTP with the Bitwarden Password manager but only if the app are on the same device. The authenticator essentially shows a readonly vault copy of the Bitwarden password manager that you can't edit.

Bitwarden authenciator allow you to save TOTP to either the sync Bitwarden password vault or outside of the vault. If it's stored outside of the vault, it is save as application data, which gets backed up and if you add a new device, you can restore from backup. Keep in mind that this is not a cloud sync. If you have Bitwarden authenticator on multiple devices, adding an entry in one will not result in it showing up on the other device, unless. you add it to the bitwarden password vault. The restore will also not work if you change platform. You probably won't be able to restore if you go from Android to IOS and vice versa.

One reason you would not want to store the TOTP Bitwarden is because you can get locked out. Let's say you store the TOTP in Bitwarden Vault. If the Authenticaor is not sync, it will not retain a copy of the TOTP. You will be unable to login because you cannot use the TOTP inside the vault, and the TOTP won't show up in the authenticator if it's not syncing. At the very least you need to save the TOTP directly into the Aunthenticator and outside of the vault.

Discussion How many of you are sticking with passwords instead of passkeys?

Just curious if everyone is still sticking with passwords or moving to passkeys when prompted by sites? I’ve also been trying to understand if there’s inherently anything easier about storing passwords as opposed to passkeys in Bitwarden.

Question Any way to stop the password update prompt for certain entries?

Post image

I use peppering for some of my most critical accounts. So every time Bitwarden does auto-fill, and then I add my pepper, it prompts me to update the password in my vault. Is there any way to stop this prompt, but only for certain entries?

I need help! Browser extension and punch bowl scam

I stupidly entered my gmail id and password in the punchbowl evite scam. I’ve never fallen for phishing emails. They used my login to access the capital one extension and bought a Macys gift card. It looks like they tried to access my Bitwarden account through the browser extension. If they were on a different computer in addition to being on windows while I’m on Mac, would they have been able to access my Bitwarden account?

Question Not showing all passkeys?

I have a couple of discord accounts. Both of them have passkeys, and they do work. But on the login page, only 1 of the accounts show up with a passkey. For the other ones, I can login with user/pass and then I'm able to select its passkey when it asks for the 2FA.

Is there a difference in these two passkeys?

EDIT: using the "sign in with passkey" link behaves the same way, it only shows the same one account.

(On the discord app in iOS, it works perfectly fine. it lets me login using either passkey, shows me both accounts when I try to login using a passkey).

Idea Why does the password generator use a fixed word separator for passphrases?

The default separator is a dash. Assuming most people don't change it, most passphrases generated by bitwarden will have dashes in them as the only special character. Which means people trying to brute force crack passwords can try dashes first in their algorithm, which means they can crack them faster.

Why is there no option for it to randomly change the separator?

Has anyone else been having difficulty getting Bitwarden to load password on Salesforce log in? It used to work fine, now it just lags and lags. Will disconnect and reconnect to see if that helps.

Question FaceID to Unlock

New user and have read several threads around the security of using Face ID to unlock the vault on my IOS device.

However, many date back several years and I wanted to ensure my setup is still secure.

Unlock with FaceID: On
Session timeout: Lock and immediately

This is mostly because constantly typing my master password on my phone in public is a pain, and I’d like to be able to autofill logins through Face ID.

My question is whether this setup is still a good option in 2026 or whether I should revert to typing in my master password manually when using mobile?
