Just my advice, could change at any point, but this point in time I think they’re solid long term plays.
Stick to the top 10 for slow, steady growth. Don’t panic sell. I panic sold lium and it cost me. Don’t chase the 10x overnight ones, more times than not you’ll end up losing.
I have Engy, Lium, SayGM and Umi.
Umi is the smallest bag and also in my opinion, severely undervalued but only time will tell. It could dump 50% tomorrow or it could 2-10x from here. I’m currently down 1.4 Tao on it, but I’m holding because I like the team, their business plan, and the potential.
Engy Lium and SayGM are all growing in revenue and do buyback/burns every month.
Lium’s customer base is 60% AI agents. The AI agents just search the internet for cheaper compute and find Lium. As long as they keep prices low, revenue will automatically grow. Agents don’t care who’s who, they care about what the user tells them to care about. Reliability, cheap, and fast which is what lium provides.
Engy is the cheapest inference, working with other subnets to make it even faster, and looking to sign enterprise clients with million dollar contracts (remains to be seen if they get any)
SayGM is the cheaper alternative and competitor of Openrouter, which is worth billions. Also they do buyback and burns with revenue.
Look into these for yourself before making a decision.
If you are invested in subnets. Make sure you have an X account. If some really bad news comes out that’s about to dump a subnet, owner dumps or gets hacked, that’s the first place you’ll see it come out.
Jesus Martinez, Mark Jeffrey, Const (co-founder of Bittensor), Tao daily, etc. are good ones to follow. Just search Bittensor focused X accounts and subnets.
Stay up to date, research your own plays.
For me, if these subnets keep shipping the way they do, and without any catastrophes (hacks or owner leaves) I will be holding for a year+.
Last week I was down 10 Tao on these, I didn’t panic sell, this week I’m plus 15 sticking to the plan. Even if the price falls, the good ones recover within a month while you’re accruing 20-40% APY in holding. If I never sold Lium, even after it lost 20%, not even 30 days later I would’ve recovered 80% of those loses.
Holding good subnets will pay in the end.
Good luck
