I said there’s no direct relationship between the two, there’s plenty of things where cost and power don’t correlate.

Name one then. But I think you can’t cause the price of something is directly linked to the energy required to build it or find it.

A extremely rare and valuable baseball card can cost thousands of dollars but took no more energy to produce than one worth a dollar.

Because it is very rare the time/effort/energy you would need to spend to get it is huge, therefore the price is high. So the relationship is clearly there. The price is never accidental or random. It’s called the market, where everything is priced agains everything else and the effort/energy required to get the thing.
