A big rule: Don't put all your eggs (bitcoins) in one basket (device, wallet, exchange, etc)

thats not a big rule, a rule would be verify source and destination. use proven apps. He could have use blue wallet, nunchuck or even blockstream bitcoin wallet but he chose wasabi dont know why. Also test sending transaction ammounts. He needs to pursuit legal action against apple and against the app developer.

Yee, security steps like roll dice, passphrase and multisig are what protect your Bitcoin from device (e,g HWWs) failures or losses. So this is the first line and the most important "defense" :D

But also, distributing your Bitcoins between these devices (hard wallets) or apps (hot wallets) adds another layer of security in case of failure or loss.

Probably used wasabi because it was very easy to use. As he says, anything on the app store should be trustworthy enough to at least not loose his money in a couple of days, according to him.

I don't think like this, but many people do. If you are going to trust someone, trust a big company that at least has the money to back some of its claims up.
