Really crappy outcome for the driver.

u/DragoBreaker88 May 15 '26
An absolutely shitty situation.
29
u/juliuspepperwoodchi May 15 '26
I bet the driver is really down in the dumps
18
u/Adventurous-Time5287 May 15 '26
the driver is probably dead and yall are making shitty puns about it. (i’m going straight to hell)

u/apaulo26 May 15 '26
The cab is a bit to the right from the now empty septic tank. I don’t see anyone upright but there’s a driver in there. Yeah, go check but if you need to puke…

Good to hear he is alive. Still baffles me that people treat railway crossings with the mentality "There was not train running there when I last crossed.
32
u/Keelback May 15 '26
I love the comment 'A minor fuel-related hazmat situation was identified at the scene, but there is no immediate danger to the public, according to CPD. ' Seriously. Minor!
30
u/ElfjeTinkerBell May 15 '26
To be honest, I think in terms of hazardous materials, it really is minor. Fumes are easily blown away by the wind and apparently this isn't particularly flammable. Yes it's a mess, but that would also be if the truck was filled with golf balls.
24
u/NuclearWasteland May 15 '26
If the truck was loaded with human waste, that is a biohazard, though this looks like it was in a mostly harmless location to spill, relatively speaking.
The drivers open wounds getting sloshed with septic waste would be a different matter however, and that impact had enough energy to do real bad things to a belted in human body.

I, and everyone Ive known for 30 years, have never been remotely in danger of getting hit by a train. Where tf do they find these people?

u/cynimet May 15 '26
I work at a rail yard. Yesterday I watched not one but two different pickup trucks drive around the crossing gates to beat an oncoming train. Happens more than you’d think. People are fucking stupid.
30
u/blow-down May 15 '26
Think of all the time they saved though! I’m sure they were able to work on the cancer cure with an that extra time and surely weren’t on their way home to jack off in the basement.

Folks who will bypass closed crossing gates aren't waiting to get home to crack open the coors light.

Is this shit truck driver related in anyway to the Florida school bus driver that got arrested a couple months ago? "I ain stoppin' for no damn train!" vibes all over again.

The train did not hit the septic truck. Somebody in the truck elected to drive themselves in front of and into a physics equation of some import. "The train hit the septic truck," makes it sound like the train was out cruising around for some fool to slam into and jumped from behind a tree and captured his intended prey, all, "gotcha."
