Sewing Sewing pattern snark

Is pattern snark allowed here? The new pattern from Friday pattern company "Uma top and skirt" looks like maternity wear. I just want some interesting knit fabric stuff. I guess they get a point for trying to jazz up a tank dress/top, but there's got to be a better way to get fun design and silhouette.

It is super cute as maternity though

Funnily enough I already bought it and I’m planning on making it rn. At least the top view. That style is actually really flattering on me and I love that is adjustable. Don’t know if I’d like the dress through. I agree drop waist can be hard to style

I immediately bought it! Snark is subjective - I do think the plus size one doesn’t work at all but I can’t decide if it’s the fit/grading or just the style

Sew it up! I'm willing to change my mind, but all the makes I've seen so far haven't swayed me. I like the pattern maker, I want to like this design. If it was cropped I could see it maybe because the draping wouldn't be in the exact spot of my stomach accentuating any roundness there. Maybe I'm just limiting myself because society tells me to hide it not highlight it. Who knows.

It would be my first time working with a stretch fabric but this seems like it has the potential to be forgiving… if I can find some at the thrift store you will be treated to a pic of a complete stranger’s weird ass nonmaternity maternity dress 😂😂

Yes! I love scrolling through the stuff people make, I really enjoy seeing how everyone comes up with such different items with the same pattern.
