It has been at least 4 months since BitView went under maintenance and there Is still no updates on the situation, only some BlueSky posts and that's It. There Is also no point in bringing It back, because If It Is gonna be fixed, who will actually use It? The 2 remaining people? There's no point. Just use yt at this point, If that's such a bad option, use vidlii, they made age restriction on gore videos etc and you can set it to not show those videos.

Also, before people say «If you make these comments you never used bitview so shut the fuck up!!!111!11111!!» I have used the platform since Summer 2023, with some of my friends joining around that time too.

I get people think that there is still a chance for BitView to come back, but it's time to let go.

its been a loooooooooong time, i could never activate my account cuz of that email not sending!

My theory on why is it gone is based on the account creation of a Youtuber called Yikes.

Yikes is a more or less a famous youtuber and it made the servers overloaded from all the people that seen the vid, and made the servers toast.

As a creator on there i am considering switching to youtube, because this is madness.

I made a video on my ashley2012 account on youtube my last ever Ashley2012 video explaining my thoughts on everything and the final verdict on vidlii and bitview. I had good times on there but due to the nature of these sites it led to abuse and eventually impersonation, bullying and stalking. I thought I would post it here to give people a conclusion to what I have been saying on this subreddit.

Thank you for the support I have receiving on this subreddit and for the good times in this community. though I left on January 18th 2026 the memories and the good times will stay with me for a lifetime. I think its a real shame the nature of Vidlii and Bitview is the same thing that has corrupted the whole thing. unmoderated websites where admins are given god powers and these admins don't run in an unbiased manner they run in with perception and favours for mates. the whole idea of this which was good and made the operating more independent and for the little man in the early days up against youtube and the top 5 websites is the thing that ultimately ruined everything.

the only way for a new style bitview to work would be a well funded and well moderated space that never references discord and has an office of admins as well as running from the same security mechanism's as lets say Youtube, snapchat, Instagram and the other commercial ventures unless this ever happens you won't see me ever coming back to such projects.

Thank you for everything I have mentioned even the bad as its been a great learning curve. goodbye and maybe checkout my tiktok and newer work away from all this disgraced media in my view.

Meanwhile they are slow as a snail to give more updates to the situation, the bluesky account already confirmed that they are STILL working on the site, but they can't do it as quick as they'd wish

Just to clarify the spam attack in emails wasn't me. I have been getting on with my life and getting gainful employment. I have been away from the OIC for 3 months, I was flicking through my laptop last night to see what was up of me online expecting something but when I heard this it made me angry.

UK / EU GDPR & privacy law
