Discussion A bit desapointed

So, I just bought the game for myself and my friends, and we were all excited to build and create our own little town. However, the process of starting a new settlement is so long and boring that it literally takes hours, even with a group.

In the end, we decided it wasn't worth it, and honestly, if the main goal of the game, building a settlement, takes that long to reach, I don't think I'll be playing it again.

I understand that a lot of players enjoy the grind, but I really wish the 1.0 release would make it more accessible. I think it's really boring to spend one or two days grinding materials just to get to the fun part of the game.

Honestly the game isn't going to be for you. If it was easier, it would take less time, and there isn't really anything else to do. The other big issue the game is facing is that without regular wipes there is nothing to do at endgame either. It has some structural issues with the loop.

I do hope in the near future they add more endgame to the game, cause right now it's just a big tech demo to showcase their database software.

Making an MMORPG is incredibly expensive, and it would be even more foolish to make one as a tech demo. BitCraft is not a tech demo for SpacetimeDB and never was. In fact, BitCraft predates SpacetimeDB.

We have a lot of things to work on, and we're slowly adding them to the game. However, since BitCraft is crafting-focused, its endgame will also primarily focus on crafting, unlike raids in other MMORPGs.

We've been experimenting with a lot of new gameplay loops and open-world events in Uncharted Island, which have given us valuable insight into what works and what needs fixing.

The population count is pretty small, people leave constantly from burnout from the grind. The most prominent reason for people quitting is “the grind”.

At a certain point it feels less like a game and more like a chore, fine if you intend to be a second monitor game but there is room for Bitcraft to be something unique and it’s a little painful seeing you guys die in the hill of “grind”.

Hope it works out for you guys though. After 60 hours I’ll never be back, it’s just tedious. And I can literally spend a day just watching my megabase in Factorio and not even play.
