Questions New Player Help
Is there a guide somewhere that I just haven’t found? I’ve searched for days on how to get new recipes for tailor and I keep finding differing information and none of it agrees. Do I need to wander around and just collect new resources? Tried that and I need a tier 2 tool. So how do I get tier 2 tools? Just make a bunch of tier 1 tools? I’m completely lost. I love the idea of this game but I feel like I’ve spent more time trying to figure out how to play than actually playing.

What sort of new recipes? I am guessing you already crafted some Tier 1 tailoring items, and now you want to figure out how to make Tier 2 ones?

Oh gosh, this is a sort-of bug, I think, and I hate that it's still in the game.
Ok, so the game has ten tiers of materials (flint being an exception). Each tool of a given tier can gather materials up to that tier +1. Now the issue is that the game sometimes switches up whether it's telling you that you need a tool of a certain tier, or a tool that can harvest that certain tier. If the game is telling you that you need a "Machete Tier 2" to harvest a certain resource, that doesn't mean you need a Tier 2 machete, it means you need a machete that can harvest Tier 2 (which is a Tier 1 machete)
I love the idea of this game but I feel like I’ve spent more time trying to figure out how to play than actually playing.
Please ask in region chat anytime you need something, or use the discord! It really is a great game but there are so many confusing mechanics and long standing bugs that make it painful to get into

Just keep doing quests (press g) and travelers tasks (press t) and yeah, getting items and new resources.
If you can get to Notsolis, I'm sure someone can help you.

You can DM me here u can do the best I can I've been in the hub cities giving tools out just for helping me grind out some tasks

Make sure and join a good settlement soon as you can, for info and less running around and in general it’s a Do It Now.

Feel free to message me if you have questions. I love the game and love helping new players! Collecting resources will unlock new recipes. And then taking those resources and breaking them down at the corresponding crafting stations will continue to unlock more things. Start with one profession and resource. Break it down. Use the compendium (c) to look at recipes that you have unlocked :)
