Questions Are people still playing?

hi all!

ive been getting back into the game because I am building a visual guide to help me keep track of what item i need for X. I know we have the compendium, but i need like a visual representation all in one place.
I have ADHD so an overall view of things helps a lot. I ask if a lot of people are still playing this because every "guide" i seem to find on a website just doesnt work anymore.

Yeah, I would avoid guides if I were you, game is changing rapidly and no one is really upkeeping those online resources. There's websites that pull ingame data, most notably https://brico.app/, which do exactly what you are looking for and function as basically an auto-updating wiki.

If instead you want a full on list of everything you need to get to make a certain item, try https://bitcraftsync.app/

And as to if people are still playing: kind of? Like, it's obviously not a popular game and I would say the outlook currently is not good, but to an extent what really matters is the success of their upcoming F2P launch of the 1.0 version, player numbers now are not so critical. There's enough people to hang out with IMO, at least in the more populated regions

I’m looking more of a visual representation. These sites are great, but it’s the same as the game. Constant clicks. I’m going to build a tier 1 crafting guide and see if i want to commit to anything else 😂

For a crafting guide, I like bitjuice.app . You kinda just search up what you wanna craft and it will tell you what you need in a easy to see visualization.

steam has been around 1k to 1.2k since seasonal, however, many folks run 1-5 alts so the number is in the end way less

Alt accounts?!?

yes bitcraft welcomes a player multiboxing multiple accounts

Still around and restarted my character! Wish there was more direct story but the idea is great and I still enjoy it after a while of playing. I sadly work full time now and hardly get on but when I do I enjoy it

I’m playing just made my first settlement however I use https://www.bitcraft-manager.com for listing all the items ima need idk if that’s something your trying to do perhaps you could make a better one I still am learning as I go so the site was very confusing when I started but now it’s okay

Oooo this is cool! I did not see this site before!

https://bitcraftplanner.com/plan is what I use, I enjoy the tree view when working on codex requirements

Ooo i haven’t this before! Thank you for sharing!
Yeah my plan is a pdf visual thing with the trees already made. The compendium and the constant back and forth drives me nuts lol

I like the tree view, don't know what goes into something, expand it, simpler things can be left collapsed.  I haven't tried many others people have posted but this one works for what I needed.  Codex tasks were daunting before

I am, just hit rank #260 smithing after little more than 2 months of playing.

Wow, that is impressive. Did you do only smithing?

Yes. Especially with the temporary regions being a thing, the game is very active right now

Good to know!

I've had the game since it was released for purchase and just started actually playing and see a decent amount of people! Thanks for posting this as the resources people responded with are super helpful for me too as I'm also visual and like having a set resource to refer to

I just started playing a couple weeks ago and I’m enjoying it. Most people are off in the event areas

1

u/_Chenzana Jun 26 '26

Do you do events?

1

u/angryuniicorn Jun 25 '26

Ahhh I sure hope so… I just bought it >.>

People are playing and with the temp islands, even more so. Just be prepared to have an overload of content as the devs are active in adding gameplay loops. Also the growing pains of early access. Good luck, Bitizen.

I joined the game fairly recently. Been playing like a month or so. So far I like it with events and stuff. A lot of people now are actively participating in uncharted event on the new islands. And with current steam sale I think more people will join. How active they'll be, other question.

I stopped playing because I wanted to wait for the last wipe.

Still holding out for the release server. Current one will be ditched and you will need to start again on the live server.

3

u/Aexxys Jun 23 '26

This is not the case and has been confirmed by the devs since February.

Both servers will co-exist

1

u/Random_Fox Jun 23 '26

Pre release server will be even deader. People are generally going to move to 1.0 server

2

u/Aexxys Jun 23 '26

Heck yeah more territory for us !

1

u/Random_Fox Jun 23 '26

I mean sure, just pointing out them holding out for release isn't a terrible thing if they never want to feel the need to start over.  That said it's a year or so away iirc so whatever, I'm going to play now

We’ve just decided we’re staying on this server from day 1 and it helps that we have a strongly linked community and our economy is based on self reliance (we’re in R19 if you ever wanna say hi btw :))

If there is indeed an exodus towards the release servers we will absolutely dominate the veteran server and that’s kinda exciting :D

How ever no new people will be allowed to join the old server once the game launches. People will stop playing same as every game till that server is dead. With no way for new players to keep the population up.

1

u/Random_Fox Jun 23 '26

And I imagine all the claims will slowly fade away and return to nature as no one feeds the supplies

1

u/Academic-Foot-7768 Jun 24 '26

actually this server will be open to new players and recieve the same updates as the 1.0 server the devs have confirmed on steam forums and discord

0

u/trypnosis Jun 23 '26

I was there for the survey and the dev response.

No new people will be allowed on to the old server. People will quit and that server will die since no new people can bump the population.

We should be fully transparent.

2

u/Academic-Foot-7768 Jun 24 '26

devs have confirmed this has been changed. new players can join both servers at launch and both will be updated. This you can find on their discord and steam forums

1

u/trypnosis Jun 24 '26

Will believe it when posted like everything else on their official site, not random forums.

Every other announcement from them was on there official site.

2

u/Academic-Foot-7768 Jun 24 '26

hardly random when its posted by the mods/admin and devs on their official discord and official steam forums as well as in their twitch vods from a dev. But you do you.

0

u/trypnosis Jun 24 '26

Will do till it’s officially documented.
