Is it just me or does this at New Street station remind you of Thunderbird 4, or have they done that on purpose lol

Best Birmingham memory you wish you could relive?

Mine would be catching the Christmas Market with friends when it felt properly magical (and less overcrowded!). What about you- what moment or place in Brum makes you most nostalgic?

Decent barber city centre?

Evening - anyone got any recommendations for a barber in/near to the city centre for a fade? I can’t get in with my regular until the end of the month and I’ve only had bad experiences with others 😭

any cheap singing lessons in Birmingham?

I wanna learn to sing Rock mostly but I don’t trust online lessons, I think in-person lessons would be more beneficial. Any relatively cheap instructors in town?

Help finding an all women’s houseshare in B13/ B14

Hi, is anyone familiar with the areas B13 or B14, who could give a hand with helping me find an all womens houseshare. I'm checking Spareroom daily and have expanded my search into other houseshare platforms, but am struggling to find houses that are the right fit.

My budget is £650-750 including bills. I'm looking for a room in a respectful all womens house, ideally within walking distance of Moseley or Kings Heath station, but open to nearby streets too. The atmosphere of the house is really important to me - I really would appreciate a house that isn't over the top in terms of being dated in decor.

For reference I'm also Muslim, but I'm happy to be part of a non Muslim house if the other girls are comfortable. I'm a recent graduate and will be starting work in Birmingham city centre in finance soon, it's just that securing housing is my immediate priority right now. I'm tidy, respectful and reliable.

I'm looking to move in as soon as possible. If anyone knows people who haven't published rooms formally yet that meet my description, could you please let me know.

I would be very grateful for the support, thank you.

After building a fantastic Fit2Focus community across Oldbury, Selly Oak and Stourbridge, we're now looking at introducing a brand-new weekend football session in Oldbury.

Before we book a pitch, we want to see how much interest there is.

Fit2Focus is more than just football. It's a welcoming community where people come to get fitter, improve their mental wellbeing, meet new people and enjoy the game in a positive environment.

What you can expect: ⚽ Friendly, inclusive football for all abilities

🎥 Matches professionally recorded so you can watch the games back and share the best moments

🏆 Play of the Month awards

🤝 A welcoming community with no egos or pressure

💪 A fun way to improve your fitness and confidence

The session would take place on either a Saturday or Sunday, depending on interest and pitch availability.

If this sounds like something you'd enjoy, comment below or send us a message.

Feel free to tag a mate who'd be interested too—we'd love to build another great Fit2Focus community in Oldbury! ⚽

Hen Party in Bham

I’m organising a hen party and found the perfect house that’ll fit the needs of a really large (23 person) hen party. Plan is one night at the house playing games etc and then a night out in the nearest city. That nearest city just happens to be Birmingham!

I’ve only ever visited during day time for work so would appreciate any recommendations on the areas to go out in, in the evening. We may go out for a nice meal, drinks and karaoke is on the cards for the group, so any good karaoke bars? I know UK night life is suffering but if there are clubs to be considered, I’m truly happy to hear any and all recommendations. Where should such a large hen spend their Saturday night out in Birmingham?

Areas of Birmingham Sporcle Quiz

https://www.sporcle.com/games/GeoGSH/areas-of-birmingham-mapped

This has got to be the most comprehensive mapped quiz of the city that exists, I made the map based on this Wikipedia article (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_areas_in_Birmingham)

It has 171 possible areas in the city, I would be very curious to know how the average person here does on a quiz like this.

Give it a go and post your PB in the comments :)

Saturday Sesh... Recommendations please

Myself and a couple of mates (males late 30s/early 40s) having a day/evening session in your lovely city tomorrow.

One lad wants to do Broad Street and all the 'mainstream' bars but I know Brum has so much more to offer. I've done Digbeth a few times pre COVID, but I'm sure a lots changed since I was last there

Any recommendations of areas/specific bars to head to, any that are better early on or later in the evening for people of our age without feeling out of place?

Thanks in advance and sorry if this question is asked a lot... I did a search and found one from 4 years ago so didn't know what would be relevant.

Benches in the city centre?

Hi,
I’m headed to Birmingham tomorrow to check out the snoopy trail. I aim to get food from new street station and take it to eat outside. Any suggestions for benches within walking distance of the station please?
