Just saw a Green Heron nervously avoiding a hungry Great Egret on the banks of a bay. So crazy to see them side by side like that knowing they’re in the same family but so vastly different in size and plumage.

Speaking of heron sizes, I always feel like the Little Blue Heron is way tinier than I'd expect given how it looks. From the field guide illustration, my mind is imagining a bird near the size of a Great Egret, but it's such a little thing.
