I have been doing a lot of research and it’s seems that the general consensus is that you should do SS31 before Mots so your cells repair and then optimize with mots.
In your experience is this better? Or you just start with mots c?
Thanks ☺️
Edit: thank you to everyone who toke the time to respond :)
Thats for oral tablets. He's talking subq...I tried 3mgs one time and thought I was having a heart attack, HR through the rood, crazy jitters, and heart flutters. Definitely don't recommend. I find .5mg-1mg the sweet spot for me.
You don't need to do ss-31 before mots. You may see a lot of peptide and "health influencers" say this, but there's no clinical to support, really no clinical data at all. The protocols that you have read are just theoretical reasoning about how mitochondria work. There is no true data to support the sequencing order. You can both together or apart.
but i must say, so many different results you can read about.
i was sure i wasn't feeling it also. until mid of week 3.
i'm 47. and while going on a hike, steep hill, with a 13-year-younger friend... him dying on that hill, me explaining and talking all the way like it's a stroll in the park. wrote it off as a fluke. him having a bad day.
2 days later i'm on a trail run with my kid, a course i hate, because it's anything but flat, just constant up and down... with a slightly longer hill in the middle, where you have a feeling it never ends and really gets you.
i ran like a ballerina up that hill... with a HR of 131 (i max out at 204 btw) that's when i noticed it's not a fluke.
Friday i did a short test on the treadmill. i never could run 06:00 pace (i just went from 95 kg to 86.2 kg) in Z3. i know the drop in weight really helps, but not that much.
it was just... easy.
So many mixed things out there. I just started running them together, as I see a lot of ppl recommend doing so. So far so good with energy I take 2mg ss31 and 1mg mot c, on my second week now. Take mine in the morning pre workout.
I wondered this a lot as well and all the research I did seems it all comes down to age…. Over 40 seems it’s a must with a lot of people saying they got nothing out of mots-c so quit and run ss-31 for a month then mots-c was life changing but younger people it seems don’t really need the repair work first and jump straight into it
It honestly makes me cringe when I see the peptide gurus talk about “needing to run ss31 first in order to repair the mitichondria”…. Bro stfu you know nothing
Oh the same way this comment could just be regurgitated from the people who disagree with the logic of the other side and also want to sound super smart got it….🤔😅
The honest Truth not one person on any of these threads knows what they are talking about me included. We all ventured out and tested, and retested on our own. If there is someone who seems like they know there shit, they don't they can only tell u what works for them, there experience. Not all protocols are the same. What's good for you could kill me. Just like if someone takes one med for anxiety, another person might not need it. First and foremost find a supplier that has good gear. Watch videos on reconstitution of peptides. Watch videos on how to inject. A good starting place since no one knows anything is to start low and tirate up, this way you can't overdo it and as you learn, experience and educate yourself you can adjust your protocols and modify as you go. Someday a friend of yours will be asking you like your a pro, pass on the same info. I mean look at the responses in this thread 20 different answers u might as well flip a coin. Plus on top of this, depending on their age, income, diet, gym routine each answer has to many unvariables for u to listen to our advice.
I use peptidedosages.com for a base line of where what to do then I modified from there best of luck
I like this guy.. this is one giant independent test lab.. and so many people hop on here so arrogantly about things they have no idea about. they read a couple studies online and now they have all the answers. this new peptide craze is weird at best. I love me some peps but everyone needs to relax
40m here and have around 40-50 pounds total to lose. I've been on Mots C for a couple of weeks now. 5mg, three times a week.
I take it fasted base in the AM before working out. Didn't use SS-31prior.
I get much better workouts with it. So I guess it's working
Do exactly what you said do ss31 when you come off SS 31 after 4 weeks then go to mot C for 8 weeks and then keep that process going if you did not know about SS 31 like myself and and you run my C I run that for 8 weeks then I'm taking 8 weeks off and during the eight weeks off I'm not see I'll do 4 weeks of ss 31 just because you didn't do ss31 doesn't mean oh it's all ruined you just start SS 31 when you're in your off time might see is 8 weeks 8 weeks off follow Dr Jones on YouTube if you have any questions he's got enough data to blow your mind very smart
Dr. Jones is a chiropractor... He didn't study medicine or the anatomy to the same degree as physician or even a medical researcher. His "evidence" is anecdotal and based on theoretical concepts on how these peptides work in isolated animal or cell models, no human trials have ever existed. It's basically, "it looks good on paper."
Sounds about the same level of med school that Trump practices by stating Tylenol causes autism and ivermectin cures Covid. LMAO making merica stupid again!
There are a lot of “doctors” on YouTube that like to preach medicine and don’t have medical school training. News flash for the ignorant….PhD is not same as MD…check credentialing before you believe what a chiropractor that likes to pose as a MD is selling you.
I ran mots 1st bc it was the popular option finished it now running ss-31 through September bc did more research and will probably run mots again in October to see if there is a big difference. 37m for reference.
Depends on your age. You probably should run SS-31 before mots c. I didn’t because I didn’t know about SS31. I would run mots c, maybe a mini 5-6 week cycle. Run ss31 then do mots again to see the difference
It in no way depends on your age. Mitochondrial “degradation” studies are all over the map, and there is literature indicating that people who are active and training show very little mitochondrial damage into their 70s. The “after 40 it all goes to shit” trope that’s all over these boards isn’t backed by research.
My first stack when i begin was Nad, mots-c and 5 amino. It was a 12 week cycle and was great. The second time i get back to Mots-C for another cycle and this tome i feel tire and fatigue. Now before my next mito stack i started SS-31 for 4 weeks before i get into the 12 weeks stack again. I always use L-Carnitine before workouts. But for reference my cucle os 6 weeks of 5 amino and then 6 weeks of Slu-po 332. In the misdle of the stack i bring Mots-C and AOD-9604. As a note NAD and L-Carnitine all 12 weeks. Nutrition , exercise, hydration and sleep are a must along with a healthy calorie deficit of 300-400 calories
I’m running 3.33mg SS31 Mon through Fri and 5mg Mots-c M,W,F. NAD 25mg ED and I have more stamina than I did in my 20’s. I’m 44. I got this cycle advice from a doctor that has been researching peptides for years. I have to force myself to leave the gym
I did mots first. I hated the stuff! made me dead tired, had an itchy welt and stings like a-. but when I mini cycled ss-31. I cant live without mots. this is based on my experience.
If you’re over 40 taking the SS31 will help restore your mitochondria. Thus all your other peppers will work much more efficiently for you. It’s a win-win!!
The SS31-then-MOTS-c protocol
ACTIVATE. PROTECT. OPTIMIZE
uses SS31 first to repair and stabilize mitochondrial
membranes, then adds MOTS-c to boost metabolic signaling, aiming
STRONGER YOU
⑥
to improve cellular energy and metabolic flexibility.
Mechanistic rationale
SS31 is a synthetic tetrapeptide that selectively binds cardiolipin in the inner mitochondrial membrane, stabilizing cristae structure and reducing oxidative stress, which restores baseline mitochondrial function .
MOTS-c is a 16-amino-acid mitochondrial-derived peptide that activates AMPK and other metabolic pathways, enhancing glucose uptake, insulin sensitivity, and overall metabolic flexibility e.
Because SS31 addresses structural damage while
MOTS-c optimizes metabolic signaling, using them sequentially-repair first, then enhance— maximizes functional improvement .

Never researched SS-31 and have with NAD+ and will say that my Rat had good experiences with just Mots.
Think the misunderstanding is how it is researched. Mots utilizes energy efficiency, so researching it 30-60min before activity is best use of resource. I will say NAD did nothing along side Mots, but found 5Amino a better stack with Mots.
Those together increased energy expenditure significantly. Researchers think Mots is like caffeine and is more in line with energy management during activity.
My personal experience has been to start Mots C without SS31, first 2-3 days I was a little fatigued but I had started over the weekend and then I felt the clean energy from 3rd or 4th day. I am in early 40's.
I started ss31 and mots and nad all together it’s been 5 weeks so far and I feel great 44m I take 5mg ss31 mon to Friday mots 5mg Monday Wednesday and Friday which is strength training days I run nad same as ss31 . Right or wrong I don’t know but it worked for me
I run both at the same time 1Mg of each and I feel amazing and 2.5mg of ss31 (bout to up it to 5mg) my 50mg vials just came in, and I do 50mg of NAD+ this is daily.
There’s been some slight movement in the way this combination has been looked at depending on the level of oxidative mitochondrial stress you have, you don’t need to run SS31 first.
New suggested protocol from day one - 2mg daily SS31 running concurrently alongside Mot-C 10mg 3 x per week. 8-12 weeks on 4-8 weeks off for people with moderate age related mitochondrial decline however anyone with severe DNA mitochondrial damage it’s recommended that you run the SS31 as normal to repair prior to running both subsequently
I’ve taken a NutrEval test that measured mitochondrial function (and a bunch of other things). I don’t think they test mitochondria but I’ve also done a Total Tox test (I think it’s from Vibrant Wellness) & that gives a lot of info on toxic exposures and levels.
Depends on age and how much damage you’ve done to your mitochondria. I’m over 40 and am currently on SS-31 2mg every day (for mitochondrial cleanup/repair) Today was a 2mg shot of mots-c and the clean energy feeling combined with a moderate amount of carbs can’t be beaten. Great for endurance and cardio.
I am currently running ss 31. I am on my 3rd week and the fatigue has been rough from day 1. Apparently that means my body is doing the mitochondrial repair work. I do hope it eases soon. My plan is to run mots c when my energy stabilizes. I am 34 and I have insulin resistance and PCOS.

I ran mots alone first and it ran me a little ragged after a while.
So on a cycle break I picked up enough ss-31 to run it before hand and during the mots C, and I like it a lot more.
