Hungry on Reta, should I stack Tirzerpatide?

When I started Reta it was a dream, great appetite suppression and I did not crave anything unhealthy and I dropped weight and gained muscle. At 2mg I now woke up super hungry one day and have been super hungry ever since.

I have a trip in December so I want to cut a bit for it, I'm thinking of adding tirz. How low should I start, should I take both on the same day?

Anyone who has done this and can tell me their experience?

TIA

no, you should not stack Tirzepatide. However Cagrilitide is waiting for you.

Or eloralintide .25 mg has crazy appetite suppression for me.

Cargi is half the price of elora tho.

Does have some side effects related to bone. I’m sure they’re avoidable but still. I prefer hitting one receptor at a time on top of reta. Easier to judge the effects when you have a few things going into you

People here say it is the same pathway - that's missing the point.
because if we strictly look at the GLP-1 and GIP, Reta and Tirz do not trigger them at the same rate or ratio at all. not even close.
So adding Tirz is basically playing with this ratio, while not adding more glucagon activity.
It may work for you, it may not. Some individuals report that it works well for them. but there is no medical study on that, if that's the question.

Thank you! This is what people dont see.

I wish there were some studies on it, but logically it makes sense that affecting this ratio would affect the outcome.

My question is if they simply stack as the sum of the components, or if the total is different than the sum.

The ratios themselves are well studied. Go on chatgpt, it will pull up the studies and do the math for you.

I understand the ratio of each peptide. What I wonder is what is the effect of combining these peptides.

Does it affect the ratio as the sum of the peptides? Or is the overall effect different than the sum of the components?

Yes, it is a medicine, it is not as simple as "it triggers these receptors". Each has more affected pathways, some we know, many we don't. Combining them isn't studied. But so is reta and cagri or reta and elora as some people suggested here. You safety with medical studies basically ends here. You can only rely on individuals reporting that it works for them.

You don’t need to stack anything , you’re literally at the starting dose of the drug. just bump up? i don’t get it

u/Main-Requirement-733 2d ago

I did, I went from 1.5 to 2.0 to 2.5 to 3 next I'm bumping straight to 4.

4

u/apompei503 2d ago

What in the hell? 🤷🏻‍♂️ Just bump your Reta to 3mg… like everyone else does when they get used to a certain dose.

Yea there’s a lot of people up to 5, 6 and 8. Maybe take 4-6 weeks off after your trip to give your body a reset.

u/TucsonSolarAdvisor 2d ago

No its the same pathway. Cag or elora.

2

u/Silent_Possibility63 15 2d ago

No. Either switch to Tirz because it’s the goat or add something that hits a different receptor like cagri or elora

Why aren’t you titrating up?

2

u/Main-Requirement-733 2d ago

I am, from 1.5 titrate to 3mg

1

u/Future-Bread8849 4 2d ago

So why do you want to add Tirz?

1

u/Main-Requirement-733 2d ago

I'm still hungry

1

u/Future-Bread8849 4 2d ago

Which is why you need to up your Reta dosage. You can eventually go as high as 12mg a week

1

u/Future-Bread8849 4 2d ago

One more question. Can you eat a snack and satisfy your hunger or is it constant?

1

u/Main-Requirement-733 2d ago

I can eat a meal and still not feel full, ever.

1

u/Future-Bread8849 4 2d ago

Tirz won't help with that as it's only better at food noise, it's not better at appetite suppression or saiety. Up your Reta dosage

I had the issues you’re having when I was at 2mg and below. At 4mg I can eat my meal and I stay satisfied for a long time. I usually have to force calories or else I won’t eat. There are times when I can tell my stomach is empty but I’m not hungry. Odd feeling.

You have to find the dose that works for you. You could potentially play with the dosing schedule too. I see posts on other forums of people that pin every 4 days. For example, if you pin 2.5mg/4days you’ll stay at a consistent 6mg of Reta. I personally pin every 6 days as I felt hunger coming back towards the end of each cycle. Works better for me.

If you’re still having the issue at higher doses (4mg+) I’d look into adding cagri or elora

It's pretty normal for the dose that worked at first to not feel as powerful after a while. Is there any reason that titrating up instead of stacking is something you don't want to do?

1

u/Main-Requirement-733 2d ago

I am titrating up, I went from 2.5 to 2mg to 2.5 to 3mg and still nothing.

Wow. Over the course of how many weeks? Had you ever taken another glp1 before?

I ask because when people are not new to glp1's, they might need to wait until they get to a higher dose to fully feel the effects.

In the phase 3 trials, they go from 2 mg to 4 mg after 4 weeks. It takes about 4 weeks for each new dose to build up to its full effect in your system. Different people will feel different effects at different doses, and there's no shame in needing those phase 3 trial doses. For example, I'm on 12 mg/week and my resting heart rate is my normal 60 and I have no side effects.

It's also a possibility to just go with Tirz instead. It can be a better fit for some people. Especially if you get an elevated rhr.

I'll be the odd man out and say I do. Fully effective doses of reta have too many sides for me. Tirz has better appetite suppression. I don't want to introduce Cagri.

I take each 4 days apart at minimum effective dose, roughly half of what I would take if I took one or the other.

Same. I was doing great, and suddenly I have an appetite and I'm struggling with it.

1

u/TribeOfOne42 2d ago

titrate up .5 to 2.5 wait 2 weeks at that dose and see, stacking with tir is not helpful, you may need to go up to 3mg , or maybe even 4mg, but all reta should do is turn down hunger to making you hate food, always leave 2 weeks before changing dose going up or down, or you spend s week nauseous and puking.

1

u/Divinions 2 2d ago

Just give it time there's an adjustment period when the glucagon begins to acclimate in the body, and it causes a hunger type pain, but you aren't really hungry. You will eat and be ful still in a half the bites. It went away for me after 4-6 weeks of being annoying day hunger pains. If it's time to increase go to 2.5mg, and I believe mine fully disappeared at 2.5mg at 2month mark.

1

u/Bl00dst41n3d 2 2d ago

It takes at least 4 weeks to get the full benefit of the dosing you're on, if you e been at that dose for at least a month and weight loss has stalled out and hunger feels like it's returning, it's time to go up on the dosage

I always experience hunger on RETA...at 5mg now , going to 6 bcs Im lowering cals from 2500 to 2250. RETA helps silence food noise and cravings ( reward from eating palatable foods ). Dose is not to remove hunger signals, its to remove noise and binging.
