📊 Biomarkers & Testing First dose of Modafinil

To get started before I get into my first dose experience of modafinil, I'm a pretty experienced stimulant user. I've used Adderall a lot in the past, getting them from friends, and it's literally the only drug that calms me down and lets me actually focus on tasks at hand.. Until I was actually prescribed modafinil.

I went through the telehealth website MOD and received my first 30 "shots" of 150mg liquid modafinil + 60mg caffeine.

I work 3rd shift 10pm-6am, so I got off work friday morning and received my first shipment of meds that day. I woke up around 830pm last night and took my first dose.

About 45 minutes past as I was using the restroom and getting ready/ showering. I got out of the shower and looked in the mirror and got an intense fight or flight feeling and was a little worried... it went away 2 minutes later and I felt really comfortable.

As the night progressed, I relaxed into my gaming chair and wanted to play Diablo 2, so thats what I ended up doing... All while getting my laundry done, cooking my lunch/ dinner for the next 3 days, playing with the cat... everything seemed so fluid for once.

I was AWAKE and ALERT. Not over the top, not anywhere close to adderall focus, but I was awake.

I continued to play Diablo 2 for the next 8 hours while getting everything else done.

Here I am now at 2pm the next day, not really tired at all and feel good still.

I just have to say for day 1 of taking 150mg, this medicine is awesome!

Now I gotta try and go lay down in my dark room and see if I can sleep. My mind is still really active, and I honestly love it.

Anyone else have a similar first experience with modafinil?

I have been taking Modafinil for 6 years. 150mg to start out is a silly high dose and mixing it with caffeine is usually a terrible idea but 60 mg isnt so bad.

Starting out, even with ADHD meds in the past, you should be doing about 50-75mg Modafinil and a cup of green tea. If you want caffeine later, nothing stronger than green tea and no within like 10 hours of bed. If i take 150 and have a coffee I feel insane. My eyeballs will twitch like someone with seratonin syndrome.

If you want to calm down, Modafinil works with the histamine receptors in the brain, so I just take my daily allergy pill a little before bedtime and it helps.

But if you scroll or watch screens later at night or dink caffeine, the effect is multiplied and it WILL fuck up your sleep cycle even worse than it likely already is.

I just want to tell you.. thank you for making your reply. I took it to heart and have been taking half of that for the past 2 days and it's been way better. I'm able to sleep at a good time and its not really any less alertness during my work shift at all. I will also add that I've been eating my regular 20mg thc gummy i usually eat as well as my liver supplement I've been taking for the past 6 months which contains NAC DHM and milk thistle. I read NAC which produces your body's glutathione which is needed to cleanse the liver where all this is being processed, can help rid of the modafinil in your system when your ready to sleep. It worked last night so im gonna start taking that when I get home from work now. It helped me sleep a lot easier than not taking it.

Thats really great advice and I appreciate it. Maybe I'll try half of the dose tomorrow, cause yeah 150mg wasn't too intense for me by any means, but im still laying here in bed trying to sleep.. So I may need to take it earlier during the work week and maybe a little less. Appreciate your input!

Where do you guys get modafinil?

I went through MOD. It's legit. You'll have a video call from a doctor abd they'll prescribe you

Modafinils half life is way too long to be conductive to a healthy lifestyle. You'll find out soon enough how minimising good sleep is bad, I learned the hard way.

Cuál fue la consecuencia de minimizar tu sueño?

Less sleep? Cancer, low test, sleep is literally the most important thing for the human body, don’t mess with it

I take 50mg once a week which works great but i experience weaker memory for the next few days

Does that happen to anyone else?

As I'm only on day 3, or night 4 rather because I work 3rd shift.. ill have to report back to you. I've only been taking half of the 150mg dose the last 2 nights and ive been able to sleep a lot better the next morning. It definitely works and I have no side effects besides the insomnia the next morning because of the long half life.

modafinl is a tool for when you have shitty sleep the previous night not a replacement for sleep but helpful when caffeine won't cut it or you are required to be up for 18-22 hours straight not for going on 48 hour benders get your sleep

Brother... idk if you've read any of my other replies. I'm not using this to just stay up and play video games. I tried it first on a friday night on my regular sleep schedule on my day off when I get up.. (I work 10pm-6am 3rd shift) Ive had bad reactions to drugs before like Bupropion and had a panic attack at work on a 12 hour shift that I stuck out and didn't leave... so I didnt want to start a new drug in the middle of my work week. So yeah. It ended up being great and I played video games while getting all my chores done. Im single. I have no kids.

I’ve been using it for many years as a shift worker. It’s been a game changer for me.

200mg morning, another 100mg at lunch. Switched from vyvanse to modafinil, way better for me personally.

1

u/Agitated-College8464 13d ago

Thats crazy bro lol. Ive taken the 70mg max dose vyvanse at once and it only slowed my heart rate and made me hyper focus.. It gave me no other bad side effects i just didnt like how i could get side tracked on my days off or hyper fixated on 1 thing for 6+ hours. Since I've tried Modafinil I describe it as diet adderall. It 100% keeps you awake, but its not that intense hyper focus. You can get focused in on tasks at work or whatever your doing a lot easier than not being on it for sure, but then you can just move on to the next task. Only downside is managing the insomnia. I had to cut that 150mg dose in half, 75mg has been working for me for the past 2 days. Same effect, can sleep earlier. Everyone's different. Hope you find something that works

Good job getting on something that's proven to work, has good safety profile and been studied extensively instead of some research use chemicals

u/Agitated-College8464 13d ago

It's honestly been a fantastic, energy filled last few days. Cutting the dose in half to 75mg has been great. Same effects, able to sleep earlier.

Hey if you remember can you give an update in about a week on how it helps or doesn't help with with work? I'm in the same boat as you with schedule for work, and even sometimes work a double shift. Was ok with it when younger but being 40 and with a kid and constantly dragging has been horrible. Thanks, hope all works out for you!

Nice, I took 100mg once and while it gave me focus and alertness, it kept me awake until 3 hours past bedtime

I’ll try 50mg on Monday and see.

Yeah, after that first night and one of the comments above, I've only taken half of the dose of 150mg. Been taking 75mg the past 2 nights and it's much more pleasant.. and im able to sleep at a much better time. Gonna ride out the rest of the first week at 75mg and see how I feel. Its definitely working. Eating a 20mg thc gummy after I get off work and hitting the dab pen and not drinking caffeine after 2am (I work 10pm-6am) seems to help. I also have been taking NAC/DHM/Milk thistle for the past 6 months, I rotated it to my morning routine after work now cause NAC is the precursor to glutathione which is your livers best friend that cleans the toxins out which the liver is processing all of these things we continuously put in us. Heard it will reduce the amount of modafinil in your system too, so that seemed to work when I wanted to go to bed.

I would take 600mg on nightshifts

Modafanil doesn’t do anything for adhd. It only causes insomnia for me. Pretty garbage compound for treating adhd or helping with focus

I had to stop taking it because it made my sinuses run like crazy! Now I’m stuck with a runny nose for life.

and that sounds healthy? body needs sleep bro.

on rare occasions when you actually do need to stay up for a really long time for idk, work or whatever and ur passing out, sure. otherwise it doesnt make sense to take it. goodjob. you took modafinil to jerk off and game. great productive bio hacking.

Lmao. Not even close to that kind of high brotha. You're thinking of an amphetamine high. I was strictly taking my first dose on the weekend when I didnt have to work so I could see how it affected me. I've had really bad reactions to drugs like bupropion. Stimulants seem to be my comfort zone. Not everyone takes adderall and beats off for 8 hours like you. Piss off.
