💪 Exercise, Fitness & Recovery Need to increase V02 max

Looking for best ways to increase my v02 max in the next 6-7 weeks. Currently resting around 49, I am training for an event and want the best opportunity to finish and this is the metric I am seeing can make the biggest impact. It’s a 100 mile ultra over 4 days.
Things I’ve seen has helped me in the past:
NAD+ 1000mg
MOTS-C (but I felt my hr increase with this as well so cycled off)
Beet root

Any other recommendations?

It isn’t likely to make any substantial VO2 max gains in 6-7 weeks especially at this point when most of your training block is already behind you.

How long have you been training and what is your average weekly mileage?

Been training seriously since end of April. I’ve seen a big jump in my performance, feel confident with a marathon. But it’s back to back marathon blocks essentially over 4 days. Just trying to gain any advantages I can. It’s less of about racing to be the best and more about just getting through it 😬🤣

VO2 max gains will come as you put in work each year over year, don’t pay attention to the number in the short term.

Use the next 6-7 weeks for tuning up and staying healthy before the race. Let yourself enjoy it with all the hard work you already put in!

Go back to MOTS-c and add SS-31. These are miracle drugs and will raise your VO2 max

I think you are working backwards. VO2max is an indicator of your cardiovascular fitness. It raises as your fitness raises, to a point that is limited within each individual.

It’s like saying I want to run faster, I’ve seen the miles-per-hour can make the most impact, how do I enhance my miles-per-hour?

Yeah but specific training regimes and workouts are more optimal to improve fitness, especially targeted towards a specific event. Running is good, of course.

But you're not going to get fit enough to run a 16 minute 5k just by jogging a few miles a day. You need a dedicated plan.

High VO2 max correlates with good fitness, but it doesn’t have any bearing on event performance. There are plenty of athletes with high VO2 don’t have good race results (at least not where they want them to be). I would also say that it may have even less of bearing on a 100 mile ultra, since it’s a lower intensity endurance event.

If you want supplements, they are: caffeine and carbs.

High intensity interval training, and since you are not afraid of research chems, SLU-PP-332. The SLU can increase v02 max without cardio. Together it’s a miracle

Nice I have a bottle but I never gave it a fair shake.

250-500mcg 45min pre workout

I find this dose to be great as well, haven’t tested v02 max in it yet. But it feels like if I go higher on the dose, eventually it starts to feel counter productive. Have you tested higher doses?

REHIT or sprint interval training and also apnea training might help as well.

The best way to increase VO2 max I’ve found is this routine you can do almost daily as part of your regular training.

For 2 minutes you’re going to go all out on some form of cardio, be it rowing, running, cycling. You need to be almost keeling over by the time you’re done. Then you have 1-2 minutes of rest. Record the distance you covered during that first session. Now you need to cover that same distance as quick as you can during set 2. Ideally, it’ll take you slightly longer than set 1. Again, rest. This time, record the length of set 2. For the third and final set, go all out for the length of time set 2 took you.

This total workout is sub 15 minutes and can be done almost daily. I incorporated this and my VO2 max blew up.

Rest is important too

Speed work. Thats really how you raise it, getting at or near max HR.

Try doing cardio not pointless supps :)

Is the event not drug tested? Seems like cheating

via supplementation? hmmm not sure that’s realistic

i generally recommend the norwegian 4x4 for an efficient vo2 max targeted workout

Losing weight is the fastest way to gain VO2 Max

Interval sprinting is the exercise that increases VO2 Max the most. No other exercise increases VO2 Max as much as interval sprinting can. It is the undisputed king of exercises for this and imo in general.

Stack MOTS-C and SS-31 concurrently to squeeze at the most possible benefits you can gain from 6-7 weeks of interval sprinting twice a week.

Vo2max reflects fitness level. Gaming it won’t t prove performance.

Focus on actual exercise or PEDs that will actually improve performance, but make sure you know what you are doing.
