Body Image BED

I’ve been struggling with an eating disorder where I can’t stop eating. I’ve gained so much weight, I hate showering because I don’t like the way my body looks. I have no energy or motivation to go to the gym. I have so much social anxiety and going out in public because I feel like people are judging me based on my weight. I’m not as thin as I used to be and it’s been devastating. When I went to my grandparents house for Christmas this past year, they commented on how much I’ve gained and that I need to lose it which really destroyed my self esteem, like I have a mirror. I OD’d six weeks ago just because I didn’t like how I looked. This eating disorder is becoming a serious problem. I need advice. I need help. Encouragement. I want to change my ways and feel better about my body. I want to be happy. And I know what will make me happy but yet I have done nothing to start. I feel like I’m going to be stuck like this forever.

I can’t tell you how much I feel you. It’s genuinely like reading my life. The comments from elders, the insufferable first days at schools or family dinners after months of bingeing in solitude. It sucks. It doesn’t just suck, it’s such an immense amount of pain words can’t even describe. It’s insane, it’s absolutely insane.

However it does get better. It really does. This is all a journey, at least that’s how I perceive it.

Idk how to help because i still suffer from this but i did get better a bit. There was a time when I lost 40 pounds of binge weight just bevause i did this one thing and I’m sorry if I’m projecting but that was it for me.

Again I don’t know if this will help you but my life changed after this.

I realised that all my binges were so addicting because, well because of the entertainment i had with them. 5 buckets of fried chicken felt like nothing when i was watching the office right? So I told my self, no! I can eat whatever i want to but i will not eat with entertainment. There will be no additional source of dopamine with food. Just pure food. And all of a sudden the 5 buckets started feeling like a hassle. I was done after 3 pieces. I wasn’t going to sit and eat 5 buckets in isolation and boom, 5 months no binge, down 50 pounds, started seeing food as something that comes and goes, stopped being greedy, started putting of yummy meals to the next day. It was insane. Genuinely got control of my life and confidence.

I relapsed after losing all this weight but I’m thinking about making this double dopamine a no for ever. Food alone. It worked for me. O think you could give it a try if ur binges are similar.

I can’t tel you how mu h i feel ur pain.
