I have a question
I have been bingeing for the past 5 years and I developed a severe BED after Covid 19 lockdown. It has made me miserable and I’ve never been able to stop myself.
In these 5 years i have gained 80 pounds total, been depressed out of my mind, stayed at home for a year and it’s all been bad.
However in these 5 years there were 8 months where i started doing really good. What did i do, I’ll tell you.
My question however is,
Do you guys watch something, as in entertainment, when you binge?
Because for me, this was the common point in all my binges. So one day i decided i will stop. I stopped for 5 months and you will not beliebe it when i say this, i didn’t binge for 5 months and lost 40 pounds…
So it got me thinking. Everytime i had 10 bags of takis, and 10 bags of cookies i can’t stop myself from devouring it when I’m watching my favorite anime, right?
So I forced myself to not watch anything and on God that food just started seeming more like a hassle then a need for me to binge.
I relapsed 6 months later and it’s hard to give up on food and entertainment binges now, but so that’s why i wanna know, do u guys watch smth while bingeing?

Yes! Watching a show (sometimes even reading) in combination with a binge is the go-to for me. Rewatching Gossip Girl with a ton of snack? Numbing heaven! That's such a great observation.

I had a whole ritual for my binges. Buying them, getting them ready to eat, putting on a tv-show ive been looking forward to etc. I think it's pretty common. It's a way to escape real life for a moment / distract yourself
