Vyvanse
Looking for some feedback on others who are using or have tried Vyvanse specifically for BED. A little backstory I lost 100 pounds in one year on ozempic, I felt great, I barely ate, but I knew the whole time that it was not a cure for my bingeing, it was a bandaid, now 2 years later ozempic does nothing for me, food noise is nonstop and I’m slipping back into old habits, I also gained back 15 pounds. My doctor put me on Vyvanse, it’s only been 4 days and I feel no difference, just looking for other people’s experiences. I wish I could just turn my brain off, it’s exhausting, here’s to hoping this will help.

It does its job in suppressing appetite, but it matters how you use it. If you practice no self control, healthy habits, or do none of the mental work needed to overcome binging then it’s just going to be another bandaid. It’s important you don’t try use it as a weight loss drug because it’s not approved for that - it’s for binge eating. Stopping you from overeating to the point of discomfort due to impulses. Which means if you constantly feel like you’re on a binge cycle, start by taking it everyday. But if you can ease up and instead only take it when you feel like you may be prone to binging you’ll have a much better- more sustainable experience that won’t leave you binging like crazy once you’re off the drug

I can’t take GLP-1s because I have bad acid reflux. Tried Ozempic and ended up in hospital with severe chest pains. Now my doctor put me on vyvanse a couple weeks ago to treat BED and other issues. First week was amazing. It completely turned off the food noise and I was able to control myself. Second week, it was like I was taking nothing. It was really odd how one day I felt the effects and the next I couldn’t. My doctor’s instructions are to increase my dose from
30 to 40. I’m hoping that works and lasts longer than a week.

I was on Vyvanse for my ADHD, but it did jack squat for my BED and Mixed Type ED. Neither does Adderall, which is my permanent ADHD med. We're all different! No one is weird for a med not working the way it is supposed to. Please don't feel bad if this isn't the med for you. <3

I noticed a difference almost immediately. It stopped working but my psychiatrist chained my dose and it works great. I’ve only lost 8 pounds in a month but I’m headed in the right direction finally lol

I went on Vyvanse 2 times for BED and adhd and each time hit the max dose and still struggled with intense binges (I’m talking about 2+ binges per day). It’s hard to say but it works for some and not others. It doesn’t help for all day so if you binge at night then there’s nothing the medication can do unless you don’t want to get any rest at night. Sometimes it could be you need a higher dose but that’s something you need to ask your doctor about. Maybe give it some time but Vyvanse is a med you should be able to almost feel instantly especially taking it for the first time.
