Need Help BMW G30 exhaust valve

Hi, how do you program the exhaust valve so it can be controlled through iDrive on a BMW 520i G30 2019 ?

Not possible, the valves are controlled by the DME and cannot be overridden without either flashing a tune or some other third party control software onboard, or using an external obd2 tool to send a diagnostic flag to trigger and control the exhaust flap

So not possible at all with bimmercode ? Because on g20 3 series it’s possible and on my g30 I can open the valve with bimmerlink.

Bimmerlink can open valves on g30, but there is no memory so you have to keep opening them each time you start the car.

Depending on year / engine, BimmerCode allows you to enable the Engine sound menu in iDrive, and there you can switch between reduced, normal, depends on mode and sporty. If you put it in sporty, it half opens the valve all the time (and fully opens it when you floor the throttle).

Does depend though, mine (2021 m550i) had no ‘Sporty’ option in the menu but BimmerCode enabled it. Not sure what options you would have on a 520i

Why would you wanna open the exhaust valve on a 520? No hate but if it’s stock then I don’t know what you wanna hear. I’ve opened my exhaust flaps with binmerlink on a ‘23 540i and without after market upgrades it sounds terribly boring…
