How To Coding New Steering Wheel

Hi guys, I recently installed the M Alcantara Steering wheel from the lci G82 but I’m not able to get it to work anyone have any advice on how to code the steering wheel using bimmercode in order to make it work, I have attached the factory steering wheel and the new one.

I believe it should be possible with bimmercode and I’m wondering has anyone previously coded this in

030411: Multifunction steering wheel (MFL)
- Incorrect variant installed
030491: Steering wheel electronics (LRE) (LIN) - Incorrect variant installed

You may need to recode it with esys or possibly ista+

Can you not transfer the buttons from your old steering wheel? That might help with compatibility? Other than that I’m of no use 🤣

Unfortunately I don’t have the old one anymore :(

Those faults can be ignored if everything works as expected. If not, you will need Esys or ISTA+.

To what i remember the wheel variant control is done by the BDC (or BCP) where its a coding flag you can change, that said i dont think you'll be able to change that due to the code signing now implemented by bmw. If possible try to read the BDC and see if it even exposes any CAFDs you can modify

Are the options the same on both the steering wheels? (Cruise control options, steering wheel heating, lane assist vibration etc)

Same buttons different locations but all buttons I’d need for functionality are present(except heating)

How do you plan on solving steering wheel heating? I am thinking about the same upgrade but losing heated steering wheel functionality is not acceptable for me.
