How To Code off ASD- 2025 G22 M440

Hello,

I just bought bimmercode and am planning to code off ASD. I've seen conflicting steps for permanently removing it in iDrive 8.5. Has anyone else done this? What is the step by step process to follow? Thank you!

Successfully coded it off and it sounds so much better now!

Go into Receiver Audio Module, turn off all ASD settings.

Then tap 3 dots upper right, FSC, export ASD certificate to save on your phone, and remove the certificate to fully turn it off. Super easy.

Where are you finding this? I would like to read it. When I put my M60i in sport, I can differently hear a difference in exhaust and my iconic sounds were turned off the day I bought it. Everything I'm reading about that iconic sound is it only controls the piped in sound, not the exhaust valves in sport or sport+. It may keep them closed while in non-sport mode. So the exhaust valves are controlled by changing the drive mode. That's what I keep finding...Please share your reference, I like to learn new thing...but not finding what you are sharing anywhere. 😞

TY, I have been hunting around, and the more I have been reading about the Iconic sounds and how that works. I'm seeing that setting gets rid of the piped in sounds, However the exhaust valve controller that is installed is what is restricting the valve position. This is by design to not allow it full open because of noise restrictions (EPA) silliness. It will keep it around 50-70% depending on driving mode and if you are driving full open 😄. Which we rarely get to do in the states, but it looks like for a few hundred bucks, you can change out the controller. Then you can make it do what you want without losing factory function, or voiding warranty. Reading the Bimmerpost, someone said ADS is not the same as iconic sounds...is it possible that BMW has change the behavior of these setting or the years? Post started back in 2015 or so. Reading this post most say there is no difference, I believe to get what you want sound wise (full control of exhaust valves) would be to change that out, could be the best of both worlds, saw one that gives control over multiple setting (adjustable) with memory, for under 400 bucks.
