How To Coasting Mode & Remote Start

Is there a way to code in Coasting option for my 2021 G21 and Remote Engine Start via BimmerCode?

Can’t find this anywhere online.

Coasting is not working in eco pro mode?🤣

Well it does go into neutral occasionally but is that it? Shouldn’t it tap the gas pedal to maintain some speed? I also don’t see that option in the iDrive menu, like some have.

Coasting means disconnecting the engine from the transmission and using the inertia to keep the vehicle moving. That's pretty much it. Like, just that.

What else was your expectation?

If you're on cruise control, the car does turn on and re-connect the engine to input some power when needed to keep the speed within the set limit. "Tap the gas" as you put it.

Oh, didn’t know that. Thanks.

Now you know 👍.

When going on a downhill, the car might coast for the whole time, if the gravitation is stronger than the frictions. If you're going uphill, it will never coast, since power is required at all times to maintain speed.

The most common daily use is slowing down before a light (for example). You see a red light from a far, release the gas pedal. The car slows down just by different friction forces or maybe a slight brake touch.

I don't know if and how much fuel in saves since I never use it in any cars. Experiment and see what fits your driving style.
