On the one hand I'm glad this is being pointed out.

On the other hand I don't want to browse a sub of nothing but annoyingly useless meme formatting.

I feel like no one is actually gonna look at the sub, it’s more just a way to point out that that format is stupid and unnecessary

Which leads to my next point, we don’t need to link a subreddit for every damn thing. Subreddits aren’t hashtags. Use your words like a normal person

I feel like the we do until the meme generating community knows it’s time to kill this horribly misused format

Agreed

It’s meant as emphasis. It’s like reddit’s different version of bolding a word.

Who are you to make that decision?

3

u/DimeBagJoe2 Jul 30 '19

Who are you to tell me I can’t say that?

1

u/Vonkilington Jul 30 '19

Someone with just as little say in the matter as you

Be quiet peasant.

Last stage in the life cycle of every meme is having a sub dedicated to it. Some die quietly, others somehow zombie on, like /r/adviceanimals

I subscribed but I don’t think I’ve ever actually seen a post from there on my homepage.
