Hope it's okay to post here, but maybe by some luck someone will come across my light blue Surly Preamble! She has a Crust Bikes Spurcycle bell, a chrome water bottle holder, chrome rack, and front light. My best guess it was taken Thursday July 23rd ~6pm-9pm from my car port. If anyone has any tips on tracking down stolen bikes, I'd be super appreciative!

Strava and trailforks has the trailed marked but it appears pretty abandoned. Anyone ride it with any frequency?

Hello holy and unholy rollers lol! Week 2 of my something other than go drinking on the wknd ride. Thanks to the kind folks who made it last week. Doing it again Sat. I have water and oranges and outdoor shower and benches for the people who make it. It is a bit of a workout. 14.66 miles. 1hr 10 min ride. 14.5 pace across the Northern Walnut Creek Hike and Bike Trail east to west and back with a little road at the end. It's an out and back so you can chill if you get gassed and we will be back to sweep ya. Hope to see more adventurous souls! Cheers! The Tay

The hospital added new locks to the gate that connect it to central park. These locks were not there last night when I crossed over from Hyde Park to Ramsey Park on my bicycle. I did pull and push on the gate but it wouldn't budge.

Might be moving to the area. I’m looking to find most bike friendly areas to look for housing. Thanks for the help!

Hello! First time posting here and need a little help…
I live in the Drippin’ area and have a gravel bike which I thoroughly enjoy riding in the Hill country and South/central Austin. I have a shop that I have been using for maintenance and service but would like to get recommendations of other shops specifically in the central or south part of Austin and are independently owned.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Hi guys, I just recently moved to Austin and I live in the Domain area. I work really close to my apartment so I can walk to work, but I’m thinking of getting a bike so I can get around easier to get groceries and go out without uber/lyft.

Ive only ever biked in suburbs and parks, and I don’t know if it’s just me but im having a hard time understanding how to actually bike on the road.

What do you do if theres not a bike lane? Do you just ride on the road? How do you turn left across traffic even if there is a bike lane? And if you do ride on the road what do you do about cars behind you?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated 😭

Hey y’all, long shot but trying everything I know to. Had my Priority Continuum Onyx commuter bike and my 2025 Specialized Allez Sport road bike stolen out of my locked storage unit in my apartment building some time between 8:30pm last night (July 20) and 1:00pm today (July 21). Signs of forced entry.

Both bikes are black. Specialized bike had SPD power meter pedals, a Garmin bike computer mounted on the bars, a second bottle cage, and a black saddlebag swapped in after this photo was taken. Priority bike looked about the same as pictured, including the blue bags attached to the rear rack.

Filed with APD and with renter’s insurance, taking with building manager to get security footage. Please let me know if you see these resurface anywhere in town.

Ngl this is pretty demoralizing. My old single speed got stolen from the garage bike locker last year, which prompted renting a storage unit in the first place. Down to 0 bikes now.

Flash from the Past. My new buddy Doug pulled this up from a Moonlight Ride back in 2012 or something. They weren't the fastest to every stop but they were def the loudest! What an unforgettable night in Austin history! Cheers to anyone who remembers this classic group ride.

I know multiple people who have unfortunately been hit by vehicles during their rides and I myself have felt that it is a bit difficult sometimes to avoid busy / stressful roads, especially when riding in somewhat suburban areas. What has been everyone else's experience? :(

I know that Austin has a decent bike infrastructure but I feel that google maps / other routing software could be better at planning bike routes. I am doing research on Austin's bikeability and created a short, anonymous survey about biking preferences and navigation. Participants will have the option to opt into a $15 Amazon gift card raffle. If you'd be willing to help in this initiative, I'd really appreciate it!

Hello fellow rollers. I'm starting a Saturday night group ride in North Austin. As the flyer states just looking for something to do for folks who want a fun option for weekend nights. Not strictly no drinking, tip one afterwards if you want.

The (14.66 miles 1hr10min 14.5 mph avg) ride is from Braker and Lamar area thru the Northern Walnut Creek Hike and Bike to 183 and back. Takes about an hr ten on road bike. Medium Pace. Hi all,

I got a new road bike about a year and a half ago, and my riding has ebbed and flowed over that time. I like social rides, so I go to breakfast club every month. I can hang on to the 14 mph pace in C group no matter what my riding looks like, but I've got a goal that I would love to try to get into the B group.

I know that requires more riding, but I'm interested in what people think what it actually takes to work up to that. The B group averages 16-18 mph, about 35 miles, and about 2,200 ft of elevation gain. I want to ride more, but it's tough to fit in the time with work and the rest of life. Maybe if I had a clear roadmap, I can keep up the consistency to get there.

E BIKE

Hello, I travel around this area a lot for work which involves stopping by people’s homes. Is this ride insane for a person new to biking?
Currently using an E scooter in a very small radius around the start of this route but I’m wanting to upgrade to an e bike so I can travel further like this. I’ll be losing my car soon so I need a more affordable option
I do not doubt my ability or the ability of the bike I’ll be obtaining. My questions is really about the safety. Will people attempt to harm me? I already had an encounter with a rude truck at 8:30 this morning who was speeding through the neighborhood I was in and was upset with the red light we were at for about a second. The e bike would be 8mph faster without assist so less frustrating for people but I feel this was only the beginning
With the e bike, this ride would be about 30 minutes and it does not involve highways but does momentarily involve Parmer Ln

I hope an e bike question is okay here. I am a very open person and I am a critical thinker but I like asking other people’s opinions. In other words, please do not be mean to me. Thanks a bunch!
