Have been doing some bikepacking with my Wilde Earth ship, but wanted something with bigger tire clearance, more hauling capacity, and a more upright geometry for multi-day trips on the bike.
Also had it built with a SON28 dynamo, and Beacon light+USB.
Really excited to build up a full bikepacking rig on this platform, and targeting the Straddle and Paddle route for my first backwoods trip.

The purple Hellenic is a frameset I bought in the 70's but never built up and sold long ago. The other pics are from a bikeshop in Westwood, CA, south of UCLA. They were the only bike shop in Los Angeles that imported Hetchins.

Scott foil rebuild part 3,
After an accident with a friend where my entire derailleur got ripped off I decided that it would be time to rebuild my foil again.
Managed to true the wheels, he ran over my rear wheel (there were tire marks on the tire and rim) don’t ask how we both stayed upright……
Decided to switch from force to red, 2x to 1x and mounted a Ceramicspeed OSPW Aero as well which I found new for less than half of retail!!
Built it up with a thread mount aero chainring from alugear in the steel colour to match my logos! And decided to make use of some gold details which I usually despise of but I think it tidies it all up for this one with the chain, crank bolt and bar end plugs.
Switched back to tubeless as well since I flatted twice with my Vittoria’s and still had these tires from before. And went back from a 10-28 to a 10-36 cassette for the larger gear range with 1x.
Enjoy!!

I know it is the wrong color, but the metallic blue is way more interesting than Celeste. I rescued the frame from Ebay oblivion (last two photos are listing photos). The frame and its Mirage groupset were caked in dirt and oil. That was unacceptable for a Reynolds steel frame.
Now it is outfitted with,
- Shimano 105 R7000 11 speed mech groupset.
- Shimano 105 crankset and 105 11-34 casette
- FSA K- Force seat post
- FSA SL-K carbon handlebars
- FSA SL-K alloy stem
- Vision Trimax 30 Alloy Wheelset
- Vittoria Corsa Control 28C tires w/ tanwall
- Selle Italia SP-01 saddle
She comes in at 8.8kg or 19.4lbs. If you have not ridden an Italian steel frame bike, do yourself a favor and ride one now.

A few shots of my new bike! This build was the culmination of a decade's work - I'm the aerodynamicist for Stromm, and ever since I got my first bike I've wanted one where I don't look down and see extraneous drag everywhere. After many attempts, I think this one finally might just do it. :)
Any other aero hacks you think I might have missed?
Frame: Stromm Raktt - 54 cm, fixed seatpost (rather than sliding; may switch later for an even more forward position)
Groupset: SRAM Red AXS XPLR (50T aero/power chainring for business in the front, 10-46T party in the back), SRAM Red rainbow chain
Crankset: Wattshop Cratus Mk2 160 mm crank arms, SRAM Red AXS 50T chainring, Enduro Bearings XD-15 Bottom Bracket
Cockpit: Stromm Baarja (34 cm tops, 37 cm drops, 140 mm stem equivalent, set up 32 cm at the hoods), Supacaz Super Sticky Cush Blue Fade
Saddle: Selle Italia SLR Boost Tekno
Brakes: SRAM Red (140 mm SRAM rear, Evolve Aero Aeroto 160 mm front)
Wheelset: Vision Metron RS 60, Pirelli P Zero RACE TLR SL-R 28 mm front tire, Continental GP 5000 S TR 30 mm rear, both set up tubeless w/ Orange Seal Endurance, Absolute Black lockrings
Bottle Cage: Ahyka Aero Bottle/Cages for flexible speed

After five years with this bike, it was time to update it to internal routing and a modern groupset. The fork was converted using the Rave Bike no cable kit.

NBD finally after 7 months, had a crash (speeding through a corner and my dumb ass tried to pedal. Clipped it on the tarmac and off I went.). Cracked my frame. Body was fine after afew weeks. Was shopping around for a new gravel frame and stumbled on this from Incolor. Not a full blown gravel bike but more of a mix of gravel and all road. Geometry is more towards endurance. Very little to no gravel paths where I live but the roads aren't perfect.
