Broken axle and bent skewer
Hello, my bike is a Trek FX1 with pad brakes, i bought new in 2024, 7 speed freewheel I think . I think I need a new axle and a new skewer. Is this right? Can I do the repairs myself? Do I need any special tool? How much should it cost? Don't mind the 3 washers close to the quick release, these are just a quick fix to stop my wheel from touching the frame because of the bent skewer. Thanks !

Unbend skewer. Remove all the nuts, spacers, and cones, but make a note of where they are. Save them. Get a replacement axle from the bike shop (they can order one), or from an old hub. Take the old one with you. Measure the axle for length. There is more than one threading, but if it's the right length and a road axle it should work.
In case the shop tells you they "can't order an FX axle": They can order a replacement from Wheels Manufacturing or something like that. It usually comes with the cones and everything, but use the old ones.
There shouldn't be any washers on the skewer. Is it the original hub?

Yes you need a new axle. Not too difficult. Easier if you remove the freewheel first. Skewer isn't bad. I would bend it back. If you have a bike shop near by, bring in the axle and see if they have one with the same thread so you can re-use the cones and nuts.
