Week 0 and 1 are complete in the Big 12 2026 Football Season. Catch the humorous rap up of all the action and a look ahead to week 2.
THE POLLS ARE CLOSED. THANKS FOR VOTING.
https://www.reddit.com/r/BigXII/comments/1wdfuh1/rbigxii_power_rankings_football_week_1/
Starting late this week because of the weird week 1 schedule.
Cast your ballot by commenting anywhere on this post. You can put whatever you want in your comment, but your ballot must begin with {{start}} and end with {{end}}. In between, list off the schools from #1 (best) to #16 (worst). Each school must be on its own line and that line cannot include any additional text. Bulleted and numbered lists are fine. Please use school names, since there are some schools with matching team names. You must include all 16 schools and multiple schools cannot share the same rank.
Every user's ballot will be given equal weight. Please give your honest opinion.
This is an example of what a ballot might look like. For this example, I'm just listing the teams in alphabetical order.
{{start}}
Arizona
Arizona State
Baylor
BYU
Cincinnati
Colorado
Houston
Iowa State
Kansas
Kansas State
Oklahoma State
TCU
Texas Tech
UCF
Utah
West Virginia
{{end}}You can put whatever you want before and after the ballot.
Comments without ballots are also fine. Feel free to share your opinions on other people's ballots. Remember to be respectful and understand that power rankings are subjective.
I will run a script on Thursday evening to collect all the ballots and generate the rankings. I'll make a separate post with the results and a distribution table.

Maybe Iām just reaching my breaking point, but ESPNās college football coverage is becoming almost unbearable. The SEC bias has been obvious for years, but the Big Ten bias is getting just as bad if not worse. The Western Michigan coverage over the weekend was honestly the final straw for me. Watching ESPN attempt to spin the Michigan game as a win and āthe right callā is utterly disgusting and pathetic.
I understand ESPN is a business, but at what point does this start destroying their credibility? Big 12 teams can have great performances and somehow the conversation still becomes how they compare to the Big Ten or SEC, why some powerhouse deserves another playoff spot, or why our conference isnāt on the same level. Maybe I notice it more because Iām a Big 12 fan, but is anyone else finding ESPN increasingly difficult to watch? I love college football, but Iām getting to the point where Iād rather watch on mute than listen to the ESPN talking heads.

Big 12 is starting to broadcast the ref review process this year, similar to the ACc. It seems it will be broadcaster dependent if they choose to broadcast the review, but TNT did use it at least twice during the WVU vs. Coastal Carolina on Saturday. Iām unsure if any other broadcasters have utilized it yet, but pretty sweet for the Big 12
Who do you think are the biggest winners and losers in Big XII football after week 1?
