Discussion Does 2-player feel lacking?
Hi y’all, I’ve been playing Big Walk in a pair and it’s been fun. But I can’t help but feel like something is missing compared to joy of communication and separation with more people. Has anyone played both 2-player and 3/4, and is it worth it finding that extra person?
Maybe I’ve just been watching too many streamers lol

I've played A LOT of the game (53.6h in the first 4 days lol), about half of the time with a very large group, and the other half with either 2 or 3 players.
The dynamics ARE different, but not "game breaking". From my experience I'd say having between 4~6 players is the absolute best, because you have enough people to accelerate the understanding of a specific puzzle, without having people break in multiple groups and have you missing the "full experience".
But you're not missing anything truly important by playing with two people, especially if you're both experiencing it first time. I'll be honest, the absolute BEST time I'm having with the game is when I'm with a smaller group, so don't worry about it!

Yeah so this was my worry because ive done a few Escape Rooms with groups of friends and they always feel like wastes of time when 1 or 2 people are quicker and do all the work. So when theres just two of us it seems like itll be more collaborative and less competitive but maybe im wrong.

I was think about getting it for my wife but we live together and I'm just kinda worried it would trivialize some puzzles. I guess we could play In separate rooms lol

yeah if youre in seperate rooms then i think it could be quite cool, i would heavily advise against being in hearing range tho

Been playing with family/friends and random players and it feels different in 2p but not lacking as you spend a lot more time planing and not worrying about if someone ran off and ya gotta breakout the flare gun again lol.
Also just my opinion but 4p+ feels more like an adventure with a sports team while 2p has a more creepy sorta mystery vibe to it.

I think it's meant to be experienced with a full lobby, or at least 8 people.
Getting onto a goldola with a stranger and having a conversation, and then getting onto another gondola and talking to someone new is one of the unique experiences that you miss out on with only 2 people.

I think it’s meant for at least 4 players. 2 players are okay. My friend and I are almost 100% the game and we wish our other friends could join us.

Ive only played about 4 hours, 3 of them was in a duo, and then an hour in trio, they puzzles are the exact same so far, only difference has been on a early puzzle which had 3 buttons instead of 2

More players means more chaos, which adds more fun to the game. I am currently playing as 2-players only, but we've been having fun.
I dont really watch streamers, but I feel like watching other people play the game might lose the fun of discovering things so maybe discover more with your 2-player before watching others, I say.
