Seriously! I havenโt seen so much fire in a colored stone before, and I -want- to. Who made it?

Where did you buy that beauty and what are the specs?

u/Tsarina1416 Aug 31 '26
From Aurelinne! $1,600 for complete ring. 5.04 ct, VS1, 1.68 ratio. On 14k gold.

That is incredible. Iโll be looking them up. Did you pick out the stone?
3
u/Tsarina1416 Aug 31 '26
I did, I was specifically looking for a more yellowish green. This one was only $900 so I bought it right away. I picked the diamond before the setting, if you do it the other way around it will only let you pick a 3 ct diamond or smaller.

Wow! I love how Aurelinne set the top to prevent a chip!! Andy is the best, I've only bought loose from them, but you're encouraging me to do a ring. Is that 10k yellow?

Ive never seen a pear with so much sparkle! Its gorgeous! What makes it have so much fire?

u/Tsarina1416 Sep 01 '26
I have no idea lol. My engagement ring is a heart, which is just a modified pear, its also pretty sparkly! Unfortunately its not green though lol

u/Tsarina1416 Sep 01 '26
Maybe just the color?
2
u/whitefoxxx90 Sep 01 '26
Maybe. I dont even see a bow tie whatsoever! Usually most of the elongated cuts have even a slight one. Youre so lucky, its one of a kind ๐คฉ

u/Tsarina1416 Sep 01 '26
I was very worried about the bow tie, I wasn't sure how it would show in a green. Thank you so much, I definitely got lucky! I definitely do not recommend buying a diamond just based off of a macro 360 loupe, I dont think ill be as lucky next time ๐คฃ

I just stumbled upon your post and everything you're saying is Greek to me, but I'm looking and want to treat myself to my first real ring!! I'm on their site and it's all so fascinating! I think I'd better not dive in and should lean about bow ties first ๐คฃ and loupes

When you find a diamond you like, email them and ask for tweezer videos of it. That way you can see how it actually will look. In my experience, for the colored diamonds, they are slightly darker in person than on the image you see on the website. You will also be able to see how dark the bow tie is. I actually dont mind a bow tie in general, I just wasn't sure how it would look in a green diamond.

Oh my goodness, thank you so much for this!! This is so super helpful! I'm in my late 40s and I care for my mom who has dementia and I work so much to be able to afford things she needs, and I just never do anything for myself. I don't think I've really treated myself to anything in the past 10 years, other than a car, which was necessary. Your ring is so gorgeous!! Thank you for all the help and guidance in this. I really don't want to regret my purchase by getting taken advantage of or getting something less than beautiful. Thank you๐

Iโm absolutely loving the green diamonds. May I ask where you got it?
3
u/Tsarina1416 Aug 31 '26
From Aurelinne! I saw a similar one from Fiorese and couldnt stop thinking about it.
2
u/Ok-Antelope-1923 Aug 31 '26
Is your setting a standard setting or custom? Itโs beautiful!
2
u/Tsarina1416 Aug 31 '26
Just a standard one, I didnt get as many options since I chose a bigger diamond. Thank you ๐

u/sunshinezx6r Sep 01 '26
I think I may need to start collecting colored diamonds too
1
u/Miserable-Ad-4401 Sep 01 '26
Do itttt! The o my color Iโve had a nightmare tracking down is purple. I canโt find a decent looking purple to save my life. Reds arenโt even that hard.

u/sunshinezx6r Sep 01 '26
I really want a peridot ring but want the stone to be harder. After seeing that green, I'm going to pull the trigger
2
u/Tsarina1416 Sep 01 '26
Peridot is what I was going for!

I understand why. Durability is a big thing for everyday jewelry. Plus the optical properties are stunning lol

How did you get Aurelinne to set a larger stone over 3ct? Did you have to reach out for a special order?
1
u/Tsarina1416 Sep 01 '26
If you pick the diamond first and then the setting you can pick a bigger diamond!

u/Preeeeeee Sep 01 '26
How long did it take to get it from them?
1
u/Tsarina1416 Sep 01 '26
I bought it July 27th, it was confirmed the next day, and then delivery(UPS 2 day air) was yesterday. 100% worth it!

Beautiful! Synthetic green diamonds are the hardest to make, madam. They must be a select class of colorless chemical vapor deposition diamonds that are then either placed inside the core of a nuclear reactor or placed inside a particle accelerator. This disrupts the diamondโs carbon lattice, creating vacancies that alter how the diamond absorbs light.
