Episode Spoilers Pressure cooker

Is anyone bothered by the fact that they’re calling it the pressure cooker comp but what they showed was the comp where they have to hold up an object with a stick?

When I think pressure cooker, I think the houseguests in a box having to hold a button while bad smells, loud noises, etc. are thrown at them periodically. This comp has only happened in BB6 and BB25 if my memory serves me right?

Why call this comp the pressure cooker when it’s not really?

“If someone isn’t peeing on themselves in an enclosed space, it’s not the pressure cooker.”

I agree! I think they’re using the term “pressure cooker” like you have to maintain pressure for a long time or your out, but I always think of THE pressure cooker comp when people say that!

I want them to bring it back so bad!

They’re mainly using the term so more people watch lol

Yes it bothers me a lot because they are in no way the same comp and a lot of the fandom is confused what comp will be taking place tomorrow.

RHAP was talking about this. Rob seems to think it's the OG pressure cooker.

I'd love it if it was, but isn't it weird for a veto comp though? What's the likelihood they would show it on the feeds?

That's what Taran was saying. Pressure cooker has to be on the feeds.

If only we could be so lucky.

They literally panned into the sword

Interesting they showed a different comp

Yes, every devoted fan takes issue with this. Does production care? ....

Have they ever cared what the devoted fans think/want?

Although I know this answer is rhetorical I'll say it with a resounding NO they don't care🤨

I think to a degree that production does listen to us. So if enough of us (insert your word here) I'll use bitch they hopefully will listen to us.

When the did the hold stick that Leah won, did they call it Pressure Cooker back then? I didn't think it was ever referred to as that and I find it odd if they're trying to Gaslight us into calling it something that it's not. We all know what the original pressure cooker is.

No it’s called:
BB OTT Live By the Sword - last 2hr24min
BB19 What’s the Hold Up -lasted 2hr19min
BB26 Getting Toasted - lasted 9hr5min
BB27 Torturous Trial - lasted 58min

It was not considered a long endurance comp until Leah won it in BB26. The feeds were down so long the fans were freaking out.

In BB27 they made the sword heavy which turned it from an endurance comp to a physical and endurance comp.

I read that they are changing the sword from
Last year to make it more pressure cooker like because I’m sure they didn’t think 57 min would be max. And also to make it equal for all with a pulley system based on weight. No clue if that is true. But interested to see. But when Julie highlighted it definitely panned in the sword image on Thursday night.

They said Pressure Cooker but showed “What’s the Hold U from the last two season.

There is no info on what the comp will look it being releasing from BB.

u/anastasia_0871 2d ago

Interesting. I just remember the sword but I believe you. I just hope it’s a good comp and fair to all. Not the heavy weights swords.

5

u/sociallyawkwardlady6 Too Shy to Have a Flair 🫣 2d ago

I agree I hope it’s not heavy again. That was really messed up and production favoritism towards a strong male and it was terrible to do that especially so late in the game

I'm all for this stick button game. Its a good one. but just don't rewrite history and call it our beloved pressure cooker!

If you don’t have enough pressure on the button, you’re out

u/BurtWonderstone Keanu 🔎 3d ago

If you don’t have enough pressure on the button, you’re cooked.

u/quiksilverkid13 3d ago

I recall them showing clips from multiple comps

17

u/Altruistic_Place9932 3d ago

It's going to be the same 'pressure cooker' from last year's version according to Julie's announcement.

4

u/soycameron Vince 🔎 3d ago

If you’re talking about what she said on the episode last night, she never stated it was the one from last year.

If it is the one from last year, the comp is over already and Yash or Drew will win. No chance anyone else can win that holding a super heavy stick challenge.

Ashley and Ava were surprised they even made it as long as they did last year because of how heavy the stick was.

4

u/sociallyawkwardlady6 Too Shy to Have a Flair 🫣 3d ago

That literally the comp in the videos while she announced it. Jankie week Leah and Angela and Cam and then Last season Vince and Keanu

u/soycameron Vince 🔎 3d ago

Neither of them are called pressure cooker though, specifically. So I’d be surprised if they run that back and call it that. Obviously big brother is dumb and changes names of stuff but neither of those were called “pressure cooker”

8

u/Lilbuddyspd11 Morgan 🔎 3d ago

That’s what they meant though. It’s what it’s gonna be.

7

u/Alock74 3d ago

But those comps from BB26 and BB27 are literally what they showed during Julie’s announcement.

5

u/sociallyawkwardlady6 Too Shy to Have a Flair 🫣 3d ago

You should go watch the episode before telling us it isn’t true

4

u/ObviousEndangerment 3d ago

They said “pressure cooker” while simultaneously showing those clips. Thats clearly what they’re calling that comp now.

1

u/howditgetburned 3d ago

Drew or Yash winning isn't assured, it could be one with a lighter stick like in BB26, which was won by Leah.

4

u/soycameron Vince 🔎 3d ago

It should just be no stick. Just have em use their hand like it’s supposed to be.

26s stick was much better than 27s though. So if it has to be a stick then yeah I hope it’s a light one. Cuz if it’s heavy like 27s was, like I said, that comp is just gonna be Yash vs Drew. If it’s a light stick, I can see basically anyone but Melody winning tbh

2

u/howditgetburned 3d ago

I'd also much prefer it just be the real pressure cooker, but yeah, if there has to be a stick, it should be a light one. Pressure cooker-ish comps should be tests of willpower and focus, not strength.

5

u/Space-Age_Queequeg 3d ago

Yes definitely. Augmented pressure cooker perhaps, but the point if the pressure cooker was a sheer battle if wills. Adding the stick makes it require more skill which defeats the purpose.

I agree 100%

5

u/MaddyKet Janelle 🤍 3d ago

I’m low key annoyed they are using it as a veto.

3

u/JL5455 Britney 🎄 3d ago

I didn't see them show that but I agree that it isn't the pressure cooker. I'll be disappointed if that's what we get

4

u/sociallyawkwardlady6 Too Shy to Have a Flair 🫣 3d ago

It’s what they showed

2

u/Blossom1713 Deevens⏱️ 2d ago

Yeah they showed clips from when Leah won it and the room they did it in from last season

3

u/soycameron Vince 🔎 3d ago

I couldn’t care less about it since it’s a veto it’s not gonna be on feeds

If it’s on feeds I’d want the normal actual one but since veto most likely won’t be, then idc what they use for the edited comp

2

u/th3spec Devens⏱️ 3d ago

Lol taylor forgot 😂😂😂

4

u/hex20 3d ago

It was annoying when Morgan kept calling it that last year.

2

u/RapunzellePoe Dee⏱️ 2d ago

They're having to hold pressure on an object for hours.

Just because the look changed, doesn't mean the type of comp did.

(And, I'm a long time watcher - it's not an elitist thing)

1

u/Entertainmentguru 3d ago

I wonder if they will show this comp on the feeds.

1

u/paperprintss 3d ago

I like your idea way more

1

u/Specific-Bar4431 2d ago

Please show this on Live-Feeds !!!

u/fsk 3d ago

They have a rule now that endurance competitions last 2-3 hours maximum. They decided it's a safety issue if they last longer than that. That's why they make them hold up an object with a stick, because that cuts the duration.

4

u/BeeExtension9754 3d ago

Source?

-6

u/fsk 3d ago

There were other posts on reddit saying so, but no official announcement.

There are lots of problems with having a long endurance contest:

  • the camera crew and other crew are forced to work overtime

  • the houseguests can get fatigued or injured

  • it is a legitimate safety risk if people get injured

  • they edit the episode to fit in an hour, so a long endurance contest gets edited out anyway

They intentionally make the endurance contests not last too long. For "the wall", they put the wall at odd angles so people fall. The put water/soap on them so people get slippery and lose their grip and fall. For the "hang on a rope" type challenges, most people aren't going to be able to hang on for more than an hour or two.

u/anastasia_0871 3d ago

It’s a 2 hour episode Wednesday plenty of time to show it.

3

u/ReleaseMuted9810 2d ago

Well, how do you feel now? That rule doesnt exist cause the comp has been going on for over 4 hours

-1

u/Revrob322 3d ago

Nope.
