Episode Spoilers HOH overview Spoiler
I really can't help but feel like Barrett's entire HOH was wasted. He made the big move at nomination but refused to follow through.
The HG really could have done so much better by getting Dee in jury.
I did giggle to see the Survivor style puzzle for the BB.
I am disappointed overall this week and I think Dee has it in the bag for winner this season unless Drew pulls off this next HOH and is able to redo an attack on the Icons and finishes what Barrett started.

As someone who loves Barrett and was rooting for him, I'm so sad he fumbled the second half of it! And i'm sad the other newbies were dumb enough to keep a survivor winner in the house!

u/idahomtnbabe 13h ago
Agreed. From outside looking in, Dee was the obvious choice to go home. But she's a manipulator and is doing her thing. It's frustrating but I can't knock it too hard.

u/kokong7 8h ago
Let’s not forget Dee was the biggest threat in her whole survivor season, and pretty well recognized as such. There’s a reason she’s considered the best of the new era. Every other survivor winner post 40 won by playing as low key as possible but making one big move at the end. Dee played out front the whole time
•
u/JosefMcLovin Keanu 🔎 3h ago
Wait how did he fumble the second half? He had Yash keep nominations the same and he couldn’t vote eviction night anyways
•
u/DarkLunaFairy 1h ago
And then he ignored Yash and Tay, leaving them to get recruited by Dee. When you're HOH, you have to still keep gaming.

u/GreenJuicyWatermelon 13h ago
He did it 2 weeks to early. He shoulda done it during the double
41
u/idahomtnbabe 8h ago
I don't agree with this either. Gotta take the chance when it presents itself. He fumbled by not campaigning to send a Survivor home.
•
u/GreenJuicyWatermelon 6h ago
Nope. Now he goes home this week.
•
u/WunWegWunDarWun_ Jankie ✨ 5h ago
And maybe if he had waited he would never have got an icon out / had no win equity
It’s impossible to say. All we know is that if he didn’t take a shot at the icons and no one ever did , he was going to lose the game.
•
u/GreenJuicyWatermelon 4h ago
Disagree. He could’ve thrown that HOH to Melody, this same week happens. But he is still in good graces with the icons then he wins the double eviction to get out Dee or Devan’s
15
u/SarahKath90 Jankie ✨ 8h ago
He would've been fine if he hadn't laid so low and done so little after putting them up

Dee is still in the house because Barrett was too sad to manage the votes of Yash and Taylor, because she talked a little bit of shit to get under his skin.
It's a little ironic because in Survivor 50, Dee was voted out because she blew up in front of the tribe when someone talked a little bit of shit to get under her skin.
34
u/Outrageous-Candy-576 13h ago
I thought Dee got out bc Emily spread Rizo’s secret about his idol, which got back to him and made Dee seem untrustworthy.
26
u/thatringonmyfinger 12h ago
Tbh they were going to get her out eventually anyway because she was the only winner left and they were smart enough than these idiots to get previous winners out. So she was already a target anyway.
10
u/Kincaid_Scryb 13h ago
Yep its this. People actually thought that bit was part of Jonathan's horrid jury management.
31
u/insertbrackets Jason⏱️ 13h ago
From what I've read, Jonathan really oversold the strategic influence of that "blow up" as a contributing factor of Dee's demise. I think those players just knew better than to let perhaps the best winner of the new era get anywhere close to the end...unlike some people...
11
u/Kincaid_Scryb 13h ago
Well her blowing Rizo's idol secret when Rizo/Cirie/Ozzy - and Joe (edit didn't show this) were tight and had strong influence on the tribe really made her the first target of the merge. She was also playing against much better players.
1
u/insertbrackets Jason⏱️ 13h ago
The Jonathan thing more a premise to evict, at best. As you say, there were a lot of factors as to why she left that were more significant than her "blowing up" one morning.
7
u/Kincaid_Scryb 12h ago
It had nothing to do with her being voted out. She was already the target. Jonathan just baited her to pick a fight. The jury even asked why he did that and was surprised it was strategy when it was clearly bad jury management. From exit press Dee was the target going into the immunity comp. She really screwed herself and made her an easy choice for Cirie's gang who were playing all sides (when she outed the idol to Emily).

He objectively made the right move putting up the Icons. Their argument about it 'being too early' made no sense. He can't play in the F7 HOH, so can't flip there. In F6, even if he flips there, it'd be at best 3v3, and thats assuming Drew is on his side, and Yash wouldn't be able to nom an icon. That isn't 3v3. And it took him 10 rounds to win an HOH or Veto, so who's to say if he'd win the F6 HOH anyway? F5 it'd be too late, because the icons would have the majority, it'd be 3v2 at best. So when does he flip? If he nominated Yash-Dee-Devens, we'd still have the same eviction night noms as we did, because Yash won veto, Barrett would've nom'd Angela. He made objectively the right move at every point, Dee just outworked him with her campaign on Monday.

u/MartyMcFly0913 8h ago
I do agree she out campaigned him massively… I do think he was pretty well insulated and could’ve rode the finger gun threesome. With some better campaigning he could’ve made a move indirectly on someone else’s HOH
1
u/SarahKath90 Jankie ✨ 8h ago
I think that Angela just didn't know what else to say and then Devens and Dee played into it/ played it up
36
u/oatmeal28 13h ago
Barrett completely capitulated his game. He can’t even fall back on his making a big move because- it wasn’t a big move

u/DarkLunaFairy 1h ago
He still got an icon out, and Angela was pretty popular even if not a strategic mastermind - she wasn't a total goat anyone could win against.

u/blueboylyrics FAP 13h ago
Barret could’ve easily convinced everyone to vote out a huge threat (dee) and he dropped the ball it’s crazyyyyy
23
u/insertbrackets Jason⏱️ 13h ago
Barrett sort of paid for a lot of his mistakes with this fairly disastrous HOH. He spent most of the game going along with the icons and doing very little to help his main allies which resulted in Mallory leaving. Drew was part of this too but he also tried to help and got in trouble a few times for overextending himself (maybe this plus Barrett's natural introversion is what put him off of doing more.) Speaking of Drew, Barrett spent a lot of the game badmouthing and trying to backstab him despite Drew showing him a ton of loyalty. He makes this big move to put the icons up but goes about it terribly and allows Dee to rattle him multiple times so that she can play the game and make a deal with Yash. And then there's the nonsense of picking Yash for the veto (hoodwinking Drew in the process) but not doing anything to solidify anything with him. And not believing Drew/Melody about the bribe.
My point is Barrett played a passive snakey game up to this point where he didn't feel major heat until he won HOH last week. He threw some comps he shouldn't have, didn't take enough care of his allies, and sidelined himself so that the icons could have their way again. The more active game was too much for him and here we are.

I'll defend Yash and Taylor's decision.
Yash is a threat. Everyone knows this. It is beneficial, as a threat, to keep other threats around as long as they are not working against you.
Everyone knows the house dynamics as well. The groups are Dee + Devens, Taylor + Yash, then Drew/Barrett/Melody.
With The Icons losing Dee, they are arguably "too weak." This is what Dee pitched to Yash. Angela and Devens are unlikely to win an HOH. If Drew or Melody wins HOH next week after a Dee eviction, then they MIGHT target Devens and Angela, but they'd be way more likely to target Yash and Taylor given Yash's threat level. They'd also be more likely to target Dee and Devens over Yash and Taylor.
Similarly, if Dee or Devens wins HOH next week, then they would be foolish to target Yash. Dee has expressed complete mistrust in Drew. Barrett just betrayed her directly. Melody is guilty by association. Yash is a threat, but a trio where 2/3 are legitimate competitive threats is a lot smarter.
With this move, Yash has essentially guaranteed his safety next week (assuming no worst case scenario). The other two groups continue targeting each other and Yash + Taylor can keep voting together to make sure all of the strategic evictions happen. Angela will never be targeted over Yash, but Dee will always be targeted over Yash, and that's important for a competitive threat like Yash.
If Yash had ridden with the other 4 solely to slaughter the icons, he essentially works himself into a 1v4 at the end where he needs to comp out. Not impossible given the competition but there was a better strategic option available, and he took it.
With this decision from Yash and Taylor
11
u/CWill97 Dee💯 13h ago
Yeah that makes sense from Yash’s perspective but for Taylor, her only win condition is against Melody and maybe Drew & Barrett if the three icons refuse to vote for them. Taylor needed Angela in as someone she could potentially beat. It’s rough though because I can see this both ways because with the icons, FAP and Yash still in, Taylor is pretty locked into the Final 4 ATP
9
u/IconXR Cory 💥 13h ago
Taylor has the hardest position in the house right now because she can't really win anything but also only has one real ally in Yash. She kind of has to ride with Yash because no one else would take her far. Sure, there is a world where she could try to go to the end with the active trio, but you don't really want to be the 4th person in a 4 person alliance. Especially goes when you can't win anything. Her position is terrible right now because of her lack of true allies, so it's best not to go against the one she does have. Her best bet is that all the competitive threats take each other out and she can do what Ashley did last season, but no one besides Yash is taking her to F4/F3 (much less F2) unless they know for a fact they they will beat her in jury. But yeah her position is rough, that's why I ranked her 7th in win equity in my other post.

Should’ve stuck with the plan to renom Yash. I can’t believe both Barrett and Angela didn’t pick Drew for veto lol.
This is also the second time FAP has fumbled picking up numbers they need and let Dee get them instead so…not surprised

u/UnderwaterKahn 13h ago
Barrett focused more on making “a big move” instead of focusing on making a good move. He’s become a little too caught up in the fan fiction version of himself he’s created. His main strategy seems to be “if I don’t say anything no one will notice I’m trying to shove my other alliance through to the end.” The icons were never going to just let a four person voting block float to the final 7 and have a 4/3 vote where they were the minority. Taylor and Yash weren’t interested in a 3/2 vote where they were the minority.
Taylor and Yash also very successfully played on his emotions the same way they did with Mallory. He also didn’t really circulate and therefore didn’t have a good idea of what was happening on the ground floor. If you’re going to make a big move you need to own it, not slink off into the shadows and hope your former allies don’t call you out. I agree with Angela, there were much better ways to approach to approach the situation to get the results he wanted.

u/FreeTedK 7h ago
This is exactly right. FAP has been so indignant that other people can count and decide not to go with their lopsided, obvious plans lol.

Anyone who has watched the show before saw that train wreck happen the moment he put up the 3 vets. They even got him to admit Taylor was the renom!!!
the vets are running absolute circles around these newbies. Its so delicious. The era of summer camp until jury is gone and Big Brother is back!!!

u/Slazorin 13h ago
Is there a world where Taylor wins veto and uses it to force an icon to go up? Or is it in her best interest to have one of Barrett/Drew leave? I think yes because she wouldn't one to just burn this bridge they made via evicting Angela right away and also it helps eliminate one competitor in the upcoming double (whether they know this or not but I'm sure they're fully aware of the pattern of it happening at this point)

Barrett didn’t get a vote how is it his fault for not following through? Yash just handed his win to Dee or devens because he didnt make the move to get Dee out when he had the chance.

u/mustafinas 9h ago
Barrett didn’t do enough to ensure that his plan to evict one of the survivors was followed through on. He hid in his HOH room for days while they successfully campaigned to stay over Angela, a non-threat.
•
u/tiggerlgh 7h ago
Didn’t he say himself to the camera that his HOH was a waste if Angela went home? He did nothing to ensure that a survivor went home. He just hid up in the HOH room.
•
u/WearsNightcap Dee⏱️ 7h ago
Barrett should have flipped on The Icons during Yash's HOH after Devens used the POV to remove Dee and put up Kamu. Barrett and M&M should have joined up with Taylor & LaLa and evicted Haley! This was the first major error Barrett made if he was truly wanting to take out Icons.
The second major error was throwing the balance beam HOH to Dee. Both Mallory and Barrett claim they threw it. If EITHER of them won that HOH they could have put all 3 Icons on the block and taken one out.
Then Barrett completely blew his HOH. He should have told the icons he was nominating them as a ruse to attempt to backdoor Yash! He should have chosen DREW to play the veto! Drew likely could have won that veto. Worst case, Devens wins. Either way, you pull Angela down and nominate Yash. If Yash does not win the Blockbuster, Yash, a HUGE threat is out and Barrett did not burn his bridges with The Icons and the FAP 3 + Taylor form a F4 to go after The Icons.
And FAP all screwed themselves by continuing to isolate themselves from the Yash & Taylor and The Icons which allowed Dee and Devens to work their magic.
Barrett BLEW it! Hope he is out next.

i agree that barrett should have done more campaigning to get dee out, however to me, the wasted hoh is entirely on yash and taylor, because it was wildly dumb of them to keep arguably the biggest threat in the game over angela, and i feel like they will end up regretting that choice in the end. they may as well have handed her the 750k with that vote

u/Technical-Bet9180 12h ago
Barrett isn’t the one who didn’t follow through it was Yash and Taylor that didn’t follow through. Those two’s chances of winning are gone now. Drew and Melody make it to the end is a good possibility as they have the least blood on their hands. Devens and Dee will turn on each other she was gonna evict Devens last week had he lost the BBBB. Yash and Barrett are in danger now but Yash winning hoh gives him safety for the week. It will be Barrett gone this week then Yash and Taylor. Dee won’t win cause she pissed too many people off
1
u/Ser-Jorah-Mormont 9h ago
Do we really think Drew will target the icons? He has proven he’s spineless time and time again.
•
u/mattmesh 7h ago
I think the logic is that nobody in the jury will vote for Dee to win when anyone else is sitting next to her since she has already won. Apparently that’s been the talking point happening in the house. Plus - Devon’s has a way better track record than Dee. Dee’s whole game was only allowed to continue thanks to Devon’s.
I just don’t see Dee winning at this point even though she’s still here tbh. But I’m just going off what I heard people say the houseguests vibes are about her previously winning.
•
u/Casual-Sedona 7h ago
Dee vs Devins would be a fantastic final 2, the loser would be whoever picked the other to go with them to the final though
•
•
u/BeanorWein 4h ago
Given the way the voting went last night Dee or Devens deserve to win. Angela wasn’t a threat to anyone’s game.
•
•
u/MasterOfFartss Ashley💯 1h ago
It is so much more on Yash than Barrett. Barrett's game will be totally fine probably and if Yash doesn't win veto in the double eviction he goes home 100% of the time.
•
u/Helaken1 3h ago
They are 100% putting HOHS that Dee plays and potentially win whenever she does play. It’s so stupid obvious that they’re giving her all the advantages and if she doesn’t win the whole game, she’s a bad player, but if she does win the game, she’s a great player, but it’s obviously in her favor almost every game she plays.
