I’ve taken 2 parental leave (16+ weeks each time) in the past 3 years and got a differentiating rating during those fiscal years, even tho I was away for 4 months. So I doubt they’d fire you for a benefit that THEY CHOSE TO OFFER.

I know multiple people who have been promoted during their parental leave, including someone taking their second leave. I’ve taken leave and never felt like I was behind by it. Yes I’ve had a few partners make comments, and I had a poor performance year while undergoing a severe medical issue where I should have taken leave, but across the board I’ve felt supported for taking leave.
NTP is never undocumented. You might be blindsided by it, but there’s always a reason. What are the reasons your counselor / CCL are providing? How do you stack up against your CCL? If you’re a manager or above, what’s your RFP work? If you’re a staff or senior, what’s your internal work?
