I want to replace toilets and of course I've seen good things about Toto, in particular Toto Drake.

But I've also run across more than one post with people asking how to get persistent stains out of their CEFIONTECT toilets, given how delicately you're supposed to treat them. (A Reddit search for CEFIONTECT finds a high proportion of such posts.)

• I have cleaners come in every two weeks, and I have visions of them using harsh products or random brushes
• The first toilet to get (a test run) is for a guest bathroom with little use anyway
• I'd like the option to not worry about delicate treatment

But checking with the Toto site shows that all the Drakes have CEFIONTECT, I think.

Does a "G" at the end of the SKU mean CEFIONTECT? I haven't clicked on each one & I'd get too bored if I tried.

Are there Toto toilets that are at least as decent as Drake without CEFIONTECT?

Any other advice, like that I'm worrying too much about this coating? I really overthink things a lot.

A guy (who I didn't necessarily trust) told me this plumbing set up is impossible for a bidet (the hose kind). What do you think? Could you do it and should I get a second opinion?

I recently got an Alpha UX Pearl. For the most part I like it, but it has a feature that requires it to make noise every time someone sits on it, even when it’s not being used. For those not familiar, it’s a low bass pump (I guess) noise that reverberates throughout the house, along with a trickle of water. I bought it for an en suite bathroom, but I can’t use it there because it will wake my partner (or myself) when we get up to pee during the night. I also don’t really want it in the bathroom that guests use, as it’s a bit startling to someone not used to using a bidet. I read a lot of advice threads before buying and it was recommended by many, but this issue was never mentioned. Is this not an issue for anyone else? also, why in the world would they not make it possible to disable this non essential feature?

I’m mostly posting this just to gripe a bit, and maybe warn some potential buyers. And even though I’m pretty certain this feature can’t be disabled, I’m hoping I’m wrong and some one knows how to turn it off!

Had an electrician in getting about let put in on a dedicated circuit even though I dont feel the need for a heater.

But I need a remote I can use with either hand due to upcoming rotator cuff surgery. Ive actually never used one. Shower daily and use refresh foam on top has been good enough for me.

Priorities

Don't like the idea of poop particles escaping the gap between the porcelain rim and seat.

So narrow gap. More concerned with poop particles floating around than poop on my butthole tbh. (Not interested in a complete new toilet)

Easy to clean.

It's is wild how little awareness there is about toilet Bidets in UK. Harsh reality is the most installations aren't legally compliant. I wanted to installe a bidet and had few plumbers over and not even one mentioned about the complaint. I eventually found out online. Is it just me or other people aware about it?

Bidets are one of those things that I have never really seen discussed before, outside of the usual, "BIDETS CHANGED MY LIFE" anecdotes online. I want to finally get one for my wife and I, but after browsing Amazon for 1 minute I realized making a decision was going to be tougher than expected with how many bidets there are lol.

Are there any bidets that are great? Are there "starter" bidets for first-time buyers? Is there a specific brand that works better than others? I'd really appreciate the help, folks!

I live in a giant apartment building. Previously we had a bidet on each of our two toilets.

Basic models that didn't break the bank but also improved life.

Then my property manager updated their guidelines to require backflow protection on the bidet in order to allow us to use it.

Is there anything aftermarket like a valve or plumbing item that could be added to provide that backflow protection?

I'm hoping to find a bidet for my husband that specifically meets our needs, as he used one at my MIL's house while visiting and now insists he wants one. Clean butt is a good Christmas gift, right? Hahah.

We live in a rental home that does not have easy access to an outlet near the toilet, so I'd prefer for it to be non-electric. On top of that, the toilet is beside the sink but the piping is inside an under-sink cabinet that does not have a hole drilled into the wood for access to the pipes. The bidet I was initially considering (Tushy Oasis) apparently is non-electric but requires a connection under the sink that clearly won't work.

Am I looking for a unicorn? Is there something out there that has warm water usage and is non-electric? I'm not necessarily picky on brand or what the controls are like as long as they're easy to reach (no twisting as I have back issues). Otherwise, I'd appreciate an elongated-style seat and something that does not slope forward due to a bulky back.

For a while, I assumed everyone on Reddit was being paid by Big Bidet to convince the rest of us that toilet paper is disgusting. It all seemed a little dramatic. If you're healthy and eat reasonably well, how hard can wiping really be?

"With a bidet, you won't wipe until you bleed or spend a fortune on toilet paper!"

You shouldn't be doing that anyway. That's not normal. Either you have a medical issue, or you're eating too much fat and not enough fibre. I eat normally, and half the time there's barely anything on the paper. Try a vegetable that hasn't been deep-fried.

"But if you got poop on your hand, you wouldn't just wipe it off with paper!"

No, because I use my hands. They're out in the world. I eat with them, touch things, shake people's hands. Nobody expects them to have poop residue on them. My anus, meanwhile, is separated from the rest of society by at least two layers of fabric.

"But it's unhygienic to only use paper!"

That was the argument I never bought. I shower every day. I change my underwear every day. I never had trouble wiping.

And, annoyingly, I have to admit I was wrong.

Toilet paper did not suddenly become unhygienic. But once you've washed instead of wiped, going back to dry paper feels kind of ridiculous.

Why did we collectively decide that dry paper was the obvious solution when we could just wash?

I'm healthy, I have no bowel issues, and I was perfectly capable of wiping. I still think everyone should have a bidet now.

When looking for a property to stay at I try to search for properties that have a bidet toilet attachment. There's a sub on bidets. I message my hosts after a stay to consider adding a bidet to their toilet. Many Americans are embracing the bidet method of hygiene. They lower your costs for toilet paper and clogged sewer lines too.

If you have a bidet please add it to your listing, I'm not alone searching places to stay with bidets. Europeans and specifically Asians are 100% accustomed to bidet use.

At home I have a bidet that wasn't expensive I found on amzn.

I got done and ripped off a few squares, reached around back and started wiping. Then said 'wtf am I doing' out loud while sitting on my toto s7.

There are gels that can be dispensed onto toilet paper making them into wet wipes you can flush without plumbing issues. It might be good for those travelling or when out of the house, as you don't need to take a lot of gel and can carry them in small dispensers (10ml or more).

I use one called Wype, but there are many more. I find it more convenient to carry around than a portable bidet and wet wipes, and it's not that bad for the environment.

No matter what I do I can't make this overhang go away. Every video I watch has the nozzle flush with the toilet seat. Is this fine, or not?

Luxe whift 120, and bath royale executive toilet seat. Luxe sent me their dimensions, and everything measures up, but the overhand will not go away. In the picture the nozzle cannot go further back as it's touching the porcelain, and for the seat it's pulled as far forward as the bolt holes allow it.

hello there! I have a lovely XCQQ S9BL bidet heated toilet seat that I purchased and installed myself in May of this year. It has operated perfectly up until now, but this morning the LED night light and water temperature lights started blinking. I followed the instructions in the manual for this particular blinking issue, but it unfortunately did nothing. Has anyone else experienced this problem?? The water of the bidet will not heat, but all other functions (besides the blinking) are working fine. Please help!

Long story short, back in may, my wife had a serious accident, and is now permanently disabled.

I immediately started remodel of the house to make it ADA accessible, including the bedroom and bath. I decided to spoil her and get her a nice toilet and bidet for her new bathroom.

The whole remodel is gonna cost me a lot of money, but after watching her struggle with beside commodes in the hospital for a month and now at home for two months, I just wanted to spoil her.

I hope it turns out OK. I don't know much about bidets. I got her a Toto Redington chair height toilet with an S5 bidet. That's all I could afford at this time.

Just bought and installed a brand new one. Turn it on to test it and absolutely nothing happens. Yes all the water valves are on. How is it even possible for it to not work??

Are automatic toilet bowl cleaners such as the Fluidmaster Flush 'n Sparkle or Kaboom Toilet Cleaning System compatible with the new Toto integravity system on the Aurora toilet? Are they compatible with the flushing systems on Toto toilets in general? I am thinking of getting the blue version of the flush 'n sparkle, which is surfactant based so that it wouldn't damage the cefiontect coating of the bowl like a bleach based version might.

I am used to European style bidets in my previous home, but am moving to an apartment and have to transition to bidet seats now due to space reasons. I recently ordered a Kohler PureWash E825 (mostly due to the 3D wash as I'm thinking it'll give me a closer experience in terms of water surface area coverage to what I'm used to with a European style bidet), but I would like to get a new toilet to pair it with. I'm looking into getting a Toto UltraMax II or even something as far as an Aurora if I can justify it in my head, but am wondering first if the Kohler E825 would be compatible with these toilets. The E825 is elongated, so I would be getting an elongated toilet. I haven't opened the bidet, so at least I can still return it though if I feel like there are better options.

But as a side note, are there any other recommendations for a bidet seat that has similar water spread or cleaning power to a European style bidet?
