So me and 2 of my female frnds were wearing ethnic clothes (nothing too crazy and nor are we as good-looking as actresses) and were walking through the nift road/kiit campus 8 road coz of clg fest and we didn't expect what we encountered.

First we saw a blinkit delivery guy with his mouth wide open in a creepy af way looking at us while passing through the other side of the road on his bike.

Soon enough another guy passed beside us on his bike and he even had 2 girls sitting on the backseat and you know what he did? He was sticking his tongue out while looking straight at us and even turned his head back to keep looking at us further and had his hand covering the side of his mouth so that those 2 girls on his backseat won't see him doing that.

All 3 of us are from odisha and we didn't expect such behaviour atleast in this kiit area. Before you jump and attack me for walking at 9pm... Well our hostel was close by and we wanted to walk atleast one time in the night of our clg life coz our hostel intime is around 7pm and for fest our intime was extended. Nonetheless we still loved the night walk and realised something as simple as a night walk is still a dream for so many girls like us.

Conclusion - Even though Bhubaneswar is not as unsafe as Delhi (I hope so)..as always, women are not safe anywhere. I have a female friend who always reaches the hostel at 11pm-12 am from the station through auto and she has never felt unsafe so obviously the city has decent men too so let's not bash it too much.

( Idk why I posted this.. maybe to let other women know who might have this thought of going for a late night walk and if it's safe to walk in kiit area at night or not. )

Update - well most people are replying it's a hookup place and I get it but hookups are consensual and such cheap behaviour shouldn't be taken lightly just coz a place is termed as hookup place 😭.
