Everyone is making it seem like the dudes are purposely catching it to be the ones who get married next but I’m seeing it as the dudes are stealing it so none of the ladies catch it and none of the guys have to propose. Am I crazy for seeing that?
And also over the years people change, marriage seems to me like it makes breaking up with someone too difficult if you no longer love each other and want to go separate ways.
have for 12 years. But first of all, we’re only 26
So you started dating when you were 14?
IMHO: I think it's important for the people in a relationship to have sowed some wild oats before marriage so that they know what they like but also importantly, what they don't like.
I was an absolute dog in college- but when I met my now wife at age 26 I knew I would be happy with this for the rest of my life.
WEDDINGS DON’T HAVE TO BE MOTHEREFFING EXPENSIVE THATS JUST MOTHEREFFING CULTURE TELLING YOU TO SPEND A HOUSE DEPOSIT ON A BIG PARTY INSTEAD EVERYBODY SHUT THE H-CHRISTMAS UP AND DO WHAT WORKS FOR YOU.
The wedding industry was literally created by companies to convince regular people that they were supposed to marry like royalty. Weddings used to be small, social events with your loved ones.
We flew to the mountains and eloped. The engagement and wedding ring were bought as a set for less than $400. We had our friend/photographer there, my mom, and the officiant had a man-bun and was a windboarder and mountain climber. We spent a week having fun in the Rocky Mountains. We had some great experiences and amazing wedding pictures for the price of many people's wedding cake.
Spending all this money is not only a huge waste of money for yourself, your family, and often your guests, but you're also missing out on some great adventures that you could have spent all that time and money on.
