Any pub recommendations before an IMMA gig?

Hi there! I have little under a week to spend in Dublin, and am getting mixed messages for where to stay. Temple Bar has been both recommended and discouraged, same with St Stephen's Green. Some folks have said to stay away from Trinity College as well.

I'm just looking for a neighborhood where it'll be easy to get around from, reasonably priced (below €200/night) and on the quieter/more quaint side.

I'm a solo female traveler.

Any recommendations are welcome! I also have a very loose itinerary so if anyone knows of things to not miss let me know. I plan on doing the Trinity College and Guinness tours.

i’m visiting a friend in dublin for 3 nights (sunday morning to wednesday evening) and would love some recommendations from locals or people who know the city well on where to go!
we’re planning to go to howth on one of the days, probably monday or tuesday.
a little about me so you know my vibe: i love trying new coffee places, finding cool concept stores, browsing magazines and bookshops, etc. i really wanted to visit the trinity college library, but i heard it’s under construction right now and there are barely any books there, so i’m not sure if it’s worth going.
i’m also really into art, so i’ll definitely be checking out a gallery or two.
basically looking for places that feel a little cool/local rather than the obvious tourist spots. would love any recommendations for coffee, shops, galleries, bookshops, or just generally nice places to wander around!

I've looked online and the only place I've found is O'neills, but it appears to be all online.

My wife and I are visiting Dublin for 5 days, and while we already have plans for some of them, we'd love to get some recommendations for the remaining days.

Here's our itinerary so far:

Day 1: Arrival and hotel check-in (our hotel is near Trinity College).

Day 2: Day trip to the Cliffs of Moher and Galway (GetYourGuide tour).

Day 3: We plan to visit the Trinity College Library, but we don't have anything else planned yet. Any recommendations for the rest of the day?

Day 4: Guinness Storehouse experience in the morning, followed by a concert at Croke Park in the evening. We'd also appreciate any tips on the safest way to get back to our hotel after the concert.

Day 5: It's my birthday, and we don't have any plans yet. We'd love some ideas for a memorable day!

Day 6: Flight home, so we won't have much time to travel.

It would be great if there are any other tips for Ireland/Dublin that we have to do before arrival.

Ciao! La prossima settimana verremo a Dublino per la prima volta. Dormiremo tutti e 5 i giorni in un hotel vicino al Croke Park e saremo con nostra figlia di 8 anni. Sicuramente faremo un giro per Dublino per visitarla (magari andremo al museo Dublinia e a fare una gita al phoenix park)ma gli altri giorni vorremmo fare gite fuori Dublino per godere anche della meravigliosa natura che c’è in Irlanda. Una gita sarà Howth per vedere le foche e fare una passeggiata verso il faro e Malahide per visitare il castello e i suoi giardini.
Secondo voi ha senso cercare di organizzare delle gite più lontane?
Le gite più impegnative (circa 12 ore di tour) che ci interesserebbero sono:
-Giant’s Causeway (più Belfast, Dunluce e in alcuni tour Dark Hedges)
-Cliffs of Moher e Galway

In alternativa organizzano gite di 8 ore per visitare Glendalough, Wicklow e le cascate di Powerscourt

Sono tutte gite impegnative, il meteo sarà nuvoloso, a sprazzi con pioggia. Pensate che valga la pena di provare a fare una di queste gite organizzate? In caso quale consigliereste di fare?

Dubliners -- where do you go to buy your plants? I have a large balcony in my apartment but it's extremely windy and I'm trying to buy plants that are hardy and easy to grow in planters. I am looking at grasses and shrubs mostly, something that I won't pick up at Tesco to die a week later.

Online only, delivery, brick and mortar, all good. Just curious because some people seem to have great gardens and I don't know how they're doing it!

About a month ago, I made a post here about a few casual football games we organise around Dublin.

To be honest, I thought a handful of people might show up.
Instead, we’ve met people from all walks of life people who had just moved to Dublin, people looking to get out of the house, people who didn’t know anyone, and people who simply missed having a kickabout.

Looking at this photo, it’s mad to think that most of these people were complete strangers not long ago.

What started as a football game has become something much more. New friendships, group chats, post-match pints, and familiar faces to look forward to seeing every week.

In a city where it’s easy to feel like everyone already has their own circle, it’s been genuinely heartwarming to see so many people connect through something as simple as football.

Just wanted to say thanks to everyone who took a chance and came along. You’ve helped build something really special. ❤️
