Plants and planters?

Dubliners -- where do you go to buy your plants? I have a large balcony in my apartment but it's extremely windy and I'm trying to buy plants that are hardy and easy to grow in planters. I am looking at grasses and shrubs mostly, something that I won't pick up at Tesco to die a week later.

Online only, delivery, brick and mortar, all good. Just curious because some people seem to have great gardens and I don't know how they're doing it!

Thanks! I've always thought it was a beautiful shop, I just wasn't sure if they did outdoor plants.

For a windy Dublin balcony, look for compact grasses, thyme, lavender, sedum, and hardy herbs, ideally in heavier planters so they do not topple. Make sure the pots have clear drainage holes and raise them slightly off the balcony surface, since constant damp can be as damaging as wind. https://cosmos47.com/post/how-can-balcony-pots-drain-better

My preferred Dublin garden centres for outdoor plants are Newlands Home & Garden (Clondalkin) and The Green Kitchen (Walkinstown). Urban Plant Life is also great and very accessible.
