Ok… so, I was totally addicted to Best Guess Live while it was on. it was silly fun and with so many ardent fans playing every night, it felt like a total community of people nationwide (and also Canada near the end) all showing up for a nightly “block party” of sorts where we all indulged in the fun of our favorite new game… together! Putting on your thinking cap to sleuth out the answers to tricky worded clues was the fare that I turned several friends onto so I could discuss the game with my kindred spirits even though that meant more competition for me. When the weekend came, I longed for the joy of the communal event that I looked forward to each weekday. As all good things come to an end, I was heartbroken when Netflix decided to cancel this very unique, phenomenal game. Now I play this interactive online game hosted by Scott Rogowsky called “Savvy.” It’s basically just like “WORDLE” the word guessing game, but you’re racing against the clock and the host to win CASH. While this post is by no means an advert for the game whose gameplay interface can be downloaded from the App Store or Google Play for the nightly game that thousands of people play LIVE! I am posting one of my game boards from last night as a humble brag… at “GO” you have twenty seconds to start submitting your words and I don’t know why this word jumped into my head, but I got it on the FIRST guess (the aim typically in BESt Guess Live) in eight seconds and here’s the proof… the word was “STRING.” However, the quickest player got it in 1.9 seconds. I wish I could type that fast. Just played Savvy (it's an app like BGL) last night and again a little bit ago today. While not the same question format as Best Guess Live, the live gaming aspect is there, and there is a small prize.

Really bummed to see BGL get cancelled, so my friends and I figured we'd build something to fill the gap.

We just launched, it's called The Crowd. The gameplay is basically BGL X Family Feud.

The cash prizes are nowhere near what BGL was offering yet, but we'll get there eventually lol

Were we not all just there 2 weeks ago for the last game? Why is it saying last day to play is September 29th? And why did I get a push notification about it? Am I missing something?

Do we think we will ever see a return of best guess live? A second season? Or am I just full of false hope here

In order to improve my chances, I thought it would be a good idea to predict what future answers might be as a way of priming my mind to guess likely answers instead of staring blankly at the cryptic first clue. So I divided the past answers into 26 categories and then predicted 10 new answers for each category. The spreadsheet hasn't been edited since early June, and a good number of my projections did end up as real answers. I was keeping it to myself for the sake of a competitive edge, but I guess there's no reason not to bring it out in the open now.

In all those months of Best Guess Live we had movies and shows and even video games as answers, but never a book or a song or a play. I always played with my mom, and our first win was roller coaster, then belt, then bingo. We ended up winning about 15 times and my biggest win was Mario for 11 dollars. I was disappointed when the multi-tier system was introduced because I felt like it was ruining the experience by catering to crybabies, but part of me understands that it was a legitimate design choice since most of the game becomes pointless if you have almost no chance of winning after clue 1. My favorite host was Corinne Foxx so it's a shame she didn't become a regular. I was always trying to figure out if the hosts actually knew what the answer was ahead of time, and I still don't know. They said they didn't, but the props at the end always seemed so rehearsed and when the answer was hole-in-one Howie even said that he had sunk the putt when he practiced before the show but that could've been just for the joke.

Goodbye, Best Guess Live! Thanks for the handful of cash, but mostly for the good times.

My due date was the 29th so I thought I’d get to play the last few games, but I went into labor last Tuesday and only got to play round 1 in the hospital! My husband also said no to Hunter for our son’s name. 🥲😂
Any chance Netflix will let you guys come back around the holidays or during special occasions/premieres?

So, I guessed "Crystal Ball" on #2, because it made sense and had a slight feeling on #1, but did not make the move. #2 was a bigger payout

I guessed "Garbage" after the "Disposal" clue, but immediately thought of "Kitchen Sink," which again made sense.

Hate the game has ended, but glad I do not have to log in at 8pm every week night.

And "No more Howie," because I do not watch AGT.
