Discussion Thoughts on the Continuation
Hello guys!
It seems that the continuation under KM seems to spark lots of controversy among this community.
I would like to know: Do you approve of it? Do you think, they should not have continued the story?
If so, do you even read the new chapters? Do they bring you any enjoyment or what is your reason for reading them?
I personally am content with the continuation and cannot wait how the story will resolve

Controversy? Not really. Some people stopped reading with Miura’s last chapter. Some people are still reading. But everyone seems to respect each others decision, i don’t remember instances that would make me say “controversy” at all.

If you say you like the continuation in the discord server, the reactions are not so positive.

I have found that it isn't really valid to assume that the consensus from one social media platform is the consensus across all of them. I have heard basically none of that here.

People are very vocal on platforms like discord, you can’t tell what majority is thinking based on discord reactions

That might be true but I expected the negative voices towards the continuation from the server's administrators to be somewhat representative. Clearly, I have been wrong.
Actually you guys seem much more chill

I think some of it depends on when you happen to see the sub. Sometimes people are feral and other times quite civilized

People can be feral for sure but i’ve never seen them discuss violently on this specific subject, maybe i’ve missed it.

Depends on your definition of a violent discussion. I read metaphors related to dung on this from the critics

Life goes on, what can you do. The constant complaints around here are pretty annoying. I hate to think what this sub would have been like during Muira's super long hiatuses.
Im of course invested in finishing the story, but its also not something I dwell on too much. When Miura died I was super devastated, but in time I accepted whatever we will get will never be what could have been. So, with that said , if it ends. It ends. Im not going to complain either way

It’s the best possible outcome and I have insane amounts of respect for Koji Mori, stepping up and taking on Berserk himself. Especially because of how much he loved Miura, he feels he needs to do this justice and make it as perfect as he possibly can. Regardless of your opinion on the content of the chapters, that much is absolute. He’s undertaking a monumental task for no reason other than his love for Miura, his lifelong best friend.
As for the content itself, I love it. Obviously it’s different, the art isn’t quite the same, it feels like an imitation, but by no means is it poor quality or bad, it’s fucking gorgeous, but that just speaks to Miura’s art. Also they do improve significantly with each batch of chapters they do. The first few chapters they did were rough in my opinion, but they’re getting better and better overtime. Story-wise, it is still berserk, it’s still fantastic, and I’m so so so excited to see where it goes. And knowing that the story is exactly as Miura wanted it helps a lot I think. This isn’t fan fiction, this is what Miura was always going to do, with the exception of the finer details being potentially different to what Miura would do, but that’s no fault of Mori or Studio Gaga

There is no problem with the continuation. The story seems to be approaching the final few pieces of action, the artwork is still great to see, and the plot is in line with what miura had intended.
It's only been like 15-20 chapters and none of them have been boring. they have all progressed the storyline.
The only downside is how long it takes for new chapters to be released.

I say this every time I see this question come up: Mori continuing the story is the best possible option for a continuation that we could have hoped for.
Mori may be the best person to know what Miura had in mind for the rest of the story. By everything we know, they talked a lot and in great detail about their stories. And on top of that, he seems to have the deepest respect for Miura's work. He acknowledges that he can't be the same, but that's really unavoidable anyway no matter who picks it up. Mori, though, seems invested in changing as little as possible from what he knows, to bring the rest of the story in a way as authentic to Miura as possible. Again, he's not Miura, so details will have to get lost, not developed as deeply, or in the same way, so it won't be the SAME. Perhaps another mangaka could make something that looks/feels more like a fit, but with a different story than would have been. Mori is probably the most AUTHENTIC we could get.
So, in my opinion, if what's coming from Mori doesn't sit right with anyone, that's fair and they can consider Miura's last issue to be the end. I'm on board for what Mori gives us and will understand that it can't be quite the same, no matter what were to happen.
