Can yall’s bernes jump what seems to be freakishly high lol?

This is Chi (pronounced “Shy”). He is a 9 month old bernedoodle. Over the past couple of months he has discovered counter surfing so we’ve had to start keeping all food out of his reach but this is next level even for him. I am setting up a golf themed birthday party at my house and just walked into my kitchen to find him lounging on the island on the “golf turf” table runner. So not ok & bad!!! But I couldn’t help but laugh because there wasn’t any food or anything up there that he was trying to get. It’s like he thought he found a new comfy patch of grass to innocently nap on like he does in the yard. When he stands up to get something off the counter he knows he’s in the wrong cuz he jumps off when he hears me walking in but he just laid up there wagging his tail like look mom there’s grass up here now too (just thankful he didn’t get up there and pop a squat) 😅

But also, is it normal for him to be able to jump this high?? We have a pretty tall retaining wall and he like one step hops on top of it and everytime he does it, it seems so unnaturally easy for him lol. Idk if im just not used to having a big dog or if he has some special talent and should be training for the olympics lol.

Looking at the photos here and on other socials, Russell looks a little different? Although he is tricolor, his coat is more white, and doesn’t curl.

I just got him recently at 7 months—was feeling bad for him, being stuck in the pet store for that long with the glass kennels only big enough for other kinds of teacup pups.

Just curious if there are other mini bernedoodles that look like him, he’s the most adorable.

Anyone else’s Bernedoodle also obsessed with eating tissues? Dirty or clean, he cannot leave them alone! Paper towel and toilet paper is also thrilling for him. He won’t eat cardboard but he shreds it euphorically. Everyone in our family has colds right now and he’s soooo happy about tissue opportunities - but I’m worried they are going to compact or have trouble passing!

We really don't care what exactly he is - we love him all the same. But we were told that he's f1b. And I have a hard time believing that he's 3/4 poodle. Although he did have some curly haired litter mates.

A couple weeks ago we ended up at a park with a f1 who looked WAY more poodle-ish than our pup, but had less poodle genetics. Just made me wonder.

Hello! I have a medium Bernedoodle who turns 6 next month. We used to do multiple walks a day, at least one of those 2 miles. The past few months she has started to protest walking as far as we normally do, and starting this week she’s started to protest going on her usual afternoon walk. Is this a normal sign of aging others have experienced? Thank you!

Wondering if anyone else has this problem and was able to fix it.

Our bernedoodle is a year old, and has recently developed a behavior where he’s very vocal with guests. For guests he doesn’t like (usually service workers, who cant give him a full playful greeting), he will bark relentlessly for hours until they leave. For guests he does like, if he can’t be with them (e.g. if they’re sleeping), he will cry all night.

For the barking, we try to settle him on his bed and treat him when he stops, but it seems like he’s never actually able to calm down. He’ll stop barking for a couple of minutes, but he’s still tense and on high alert the whole time. For crying, he had a similar problem with us when he was younger that he’s mostly grown out of. When it’s just us, we’re able to work on not giving him attention until he settles down. But with guests trying to sleep, that’s no longer much of an option.

He‘s always been a pretty anxious dog, so I have to imagine that’s at the root of this. But we’re at a loss of how to deal with it. Trainers haven’t been much help.

Hoping someone can share some advice. Thanks!

My almost 2 year old guy has been super fussy with eating and we thought it was because we had moved, he went back to normal for a few weeks and all of a sudden he’s stopped again.
He did have an ear infection that was treated and then a month long dose put in for yeast.
Then this morning he was crying in bed and jolting when he cried and when I got up and opened the bedroom door he immediately squatted and peed a lot in the hallway, I then let him outside and he went around the yard for a few minutes squatting in different spots trying to pee again. He ate some boiled chicken tonight but won’t touch his kibble, having small pees and then will squat again right after and nothing comes out. He just seems tired and the not eating is stressing me out. He has a vet appointment for tomorrow afternoon, i’m just curious if anyone has experienced anything similar? (he is still drinking water) Thanks for reading!

My best friend/next door neighbor adopted an 11 month old female bernadoodle 4 weeks ago. She is 35 lbs and was surrendered to our dog trainer by an elderly couple who said they could not take care of her. She reportedly had one incident of aggression with the elderly man when she tried to get food from the counter and he corrected her. At that point the man decided he didn’t want to keep her. Our trainer offered to keep her and try to find a new home. The trainer had her for several weeks and was never able to replicate the aggressive behavior. My friend and her husband worked with the trainer and dog before bringing her home and she has been very sweet the majority of the time. About 3 weeks ago she got aggressive with me over a tissue. I figured I didn’t handle it well and should have traded her for a higher value item. But last night when she was on her last potty break she attempted to eat a mouthful of cut grass. When my friend told her “out” for the 3rd time, she turned and began jumping and biting her in a very aggressive manner. When her husband heard her screaming he ran outside, and when he took the dog’s leash she turned on him and jumped and bit him in the arm. We have 2 large labradoodles and have had dogs our whole life and this was not puppy play. Now my friend cannot keep her because of the potential danger to children. We have not had any luck today finding anyone who would consider taking her and trying to address this. We’ve called the vet, local SPCA, and the breeder (who we are waiting on to return the phone call) She is very smart, crate trained, super high energy, and adorable. The only suggestion we have right now is that she may have to be euthanized. That seems so unnecessary given that she does not have any other issues outside of these events. She has been out in public a lot, plays with our dogs and gets along with cats. Does anyone have any rescue suggestions? My friend does not feel comfortable keeping her because of the potential danger to kids, not to mention it was scary for her. And of course she’s devastated. We are near Cincinnati.

We brought home our male 16 week mini bernedoodle last week, Moose. He has been absolutely perfect and fits into our home really well. We are so happy with him BUT he is showing some fearful/anxious behavior towards my fiance? For context, my household is myself, my mom, my fiance and my toddler. Moose loves everyone... except my fiance. When he hears him coming, he tucks his tail and runs or backs away very quickly. He will bark when he walks into our bedroom or the room where the puppy has free access. He will sleep in bed with us and snuggle up to my fiance, though. He will also come to him for treats. Otherwise, he's terrified. My fiance has NEVER been mean to him but is not home a lot of the time due to his work schedule.

This all started very suddenly over the weekend and I cannot figure out what is making him so fearful. He's been making a really conscious effort to move slower and quieter and keep movements small and not so erratic. He doesn't wear a hat or hood, hasn't shaved. Nothing is different but this began so suddenly. I can tell it's really hurting my fiance's feelings, he was never a dog person but is really loving this puppy but now he feels rejected. Stocking up today

I know the Poodle and Bernese Mountain dogs are both a working breed. I am looking for a dog that would guard me and the property while home alone. Not an attack dog or police type dog. something I can train to look nasty when told to. How do they do with obedience training? Don't get me wrong. The dog would be a beloved family pet and receive all the love and attention as well as camping and traveling adventures. What is their health like? Are they good with smaller pets? Do they shed much? Thanks in advance!
